No one ever posts what the numbers would actually look like. In the NBA and NFL, the floor is 90% of the cap. Like if the owners were proposing a 250m cap with a 225m floor, I’m sure the MLBPA would stop fighting it.

This isn’t to excuse people’s ignorance but I don’t think a lot of people understand the desperation poverty inflicts on people and how our country has cruelly used the military as a “way out.”
I’ve worked at public schools across Chicago and the difference in recruitment at Black and brown schools vs white schools is startling. I currently work at a highly ranked school with a lot of privileged families and I’ve never seen a recruiter. I used to see them every week.
This is objectively true. But I do think it underestimates just how insidious the military is at exploiting the desperation of marginalized communities.
