Thank you Sarah and had fun experimenting with this.

They are looking good in the light. They are beautiful birds.
Good to see you here Ian and a friendly place for photographers.
Two elderly men sit on folding chairs in a grassy field at a classic car show. One holds a walking stick and a camera, while the other wears a sun hat and checked shirt. Behind them is a vintage Morris Minor with a βFor Saleβ sign in the window, and several other classic cars are parked nearby
Shot from last weekend at the Carnhell Green Charity Vintage Rally. We discuss this as well as a great chat with @sarahlonges.bsky.social on Flash, Bang, Wallop which you can watch here youtu.be/N63_UAFtBWQ
Black and white photograph of the ruined engine house at Wheal Peevor in Cornwall. The sun creates a dramatic starburst as it peeks around the edge of the stone wall beside the tall chimney stack. Textured grass fills the foreground, leading towards the historic building, with bare trees and a clear sky in the background.

Selfridges, Birmingham, is a fascinating building to photograph. Over the years I have taken many pictures and seen other people's photographs. There is always one more photograph that has not been taken. My idea was to try ICM which is not an easy genre for me. I understand the technique but I find it difficult to see the finished result. The geometry of the discs on Selfridges lend themselves to ICM. The slight camera movement, which is upwards during a 1/10 second exposure, maintains the underlying geometry whilst creating new forms.

Thank you so much for reading my blog. The building was covered and the scaffolding was very safe. The people restoring the building were so enthusiastic about their work.
We have two in the garden and they are always fun to watch. Love your photograph.
I am fortunate that I am with a group of photographers who alert each other as to what is happening. I was able to sign up to this as soon as it was advertised. The tour was an experience and there was such enthusiasm and dedication from the people restoring the building.
This was organised by the Birmingham Conservation Trust. Tickets were limited and fortunately I was quick of the mark. Full story plus pics damienwalmsley.com/golden-lion-...
The Golden Lion in Birmingham has quite a story. Built in the early 1600s, it originally stood on Deritend High Street and has lived many different lives over the centuries. In 1911, it was moved to Cannon Hill Park, where it later served as a cricket pavilion and refreshment room. For more than 20 years, however, it has stood empty, until support from Historic England allowed Birmingham Conservation Trust and the City Council to begin restoration. I was very fortunate to be one of six people invited to take a hard-hat tour of the outside of the building. We viewed the Golden Lion from the scaffolding, and there were many highlights. For me, seeing a roof of timbers constructed in the 1600s and then transported several miles in 1910 was amazing. While the roof was in relatively good repair, the rest of the building requires much more attention.

Thank you Sarah and it was such a rare opportunity to get this picture especially with the sunshine π
Thatβs kind of you, Thank you.
Well done Steve πππ
Thank you for a top 4 selection very pleased. All the photos this week have been so good.
Just catching up and seen the long list. Thank you @sarahlonges.bsky.social for the selection and good luck everyone.
That looks ready for spring. I always like seeing these wall features before the growing starts. Love the textures.
What a cool hat!
This does conjure up many stories and a great find for Valentine's Day
Thank you and always a great place to visit and explore.
Centenary Square has been cleared of the recent fairground installations that were put up over Christmas and the New Year. Now the reflecting pool can be seen; however, the City Council have not yet turned on the fountains. The recent rain has been nonstop, but it has allowed the water to fill the square. This iPhone picture, taken with the wide-angle setting, captures all the buildings. From left to right: the REP, the Library of Birmingham, the Octagon, Baskerville House, the soon-to-be-demolished Copthorne Hotel, and the new office buildings in Paradise Circus. I will have to come back next year, as more skyscrapers are planned for the space between the Octagon and Paradise Circus.
Centenary Square, Birmingham
The combination of too much rain and the appearance of the sun created a wonderful reflection of the buildings in Centenary Square.

So good to see the colour of spring as your background. Sets off the colours of the coat nicely.
One of the many tunnels in Rugby town that are under the west coast mainline. The rare appearance of the sun meant that I was able to photograph my shadow.
Letting the sun in.

This is a good place for photography. You should look at #sharemondays2026
So I did! Thanks again.
Lovely capture
Love the silhouettes of the birds.
Really cool. I saw Helios at Charterhouse NT, Coventry your setting is more dramatic.
Love the light in the tunnel. They remind me of some of the tunnels under the mainline tracks around Rugby.
