Started working on a little tower defense roguelike in my free time. This is about a week of progress. Getting the water in the top right to animate correctly took BY FAR the most time out of anything in this gif, haha.

Ocarina of Time
Majora's Mask
Zelda 2
Hmm. Slay the Spire 2 now with... co-op? I guess?
Not really something I ever wanted from StS. Hopefully the single player didn't get sacrificed for this.
From the minds that brought us the hit game Concord!
Kirby and the Forgotten Land :C: | 5/5 stars
100%'ed game+DLC with the kiddo. Really great co op!
Pretty funny how early Kirby bosses are like:
- Mean tree who drops apples on you
- Bad penguin with hammer
Then late game bosses are like:
- Horror from Beyond the Stars
- Sephiroth
- The Thing
It... is? Mostly I see people saying it and Skyward Sword aged poorly compared to other zelda games.
Kirby: Return to Dreamland Deluxe :B: | 4/5 stars
Nice game to co op with my kid. Reminds me a lot of Superstar with the power variety, and the big movelist for each power. Seems like there's a decent post game too which is cool!
I swear some game devs lost their minds in that era with button mapping. I think kirby super star DS also reversed jump and attack from the SNES game and didn't allow remap. wtf??
Ball X Pit :B: | 4/5 stars
Very fun, kinda Vampire Survivors + Breakout. The combinations are fun to explore, I got pulled in for hours at a time.
Not 100% sure on the base builder part, kinda made my characters overpowered at a certain point.
2026 Games Beat Thread
Most movies are pretty simple. Black and white, no dialog, basic stories. Shrek (2001) changed that.
Watched "It Was Just an Accident" yesterday. Really cool movie, does a lot on a budget that seems to be somewhere near $0. Also apparently the director had to stealth film it while dodging the Iranian KGB? Wild stuff.
A Short Hike :C: | 4/5 stars
Very charming little game that evokes the nostalgia of nature summer camp and also the awkwardness and anxiety of being an early teen. Definitely check it out if you're looking for something short and cozy.
@sobou.bsky.social yo thanks for the steam game! :everyman:
Pretty sure it's Diablo 2 but like... bigger?
Also not 100% sure though.
Finally got around to watching Sinners and... it's kinda bad? Like, cool vibes, cool music, and then characters in a horror movie making the dumbest decisions imaginable over and over.
Favorite 2025 games:
1. Expedition 33
2. Silksong
3. Blue Prince
4. Hades 2
Honorable mentions to good games I played from before 2025
- FF7 Rebirth
- Outer Wilds
- Kirby and the Forgotten Land
- Final Fight
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 :B: | 5/5 stars
Really enjoyed this. Fun, flexible combat system, great characters, interesting world and story. Looking forward to doing the post game.
Nice year for indie games.
Oh boy SF6 balance patch time! One of only 2 big ones per year! Let's see how they shake up the meta for the next 6 months...
- minor Elena buffs
- minor Sagat buffs
- minor Mai nerfs
- minor bug fixes
Congrats to E33, very good video game.
Man Keighly got really excited for another mega man lol. I mean I dig those games but even I'm just like "cool ok."
wtf is worcestershire waves?
So glad they aren't doing all the same old well-worn metroid items yet again.
This time they are purple and "psychic".
Damn, Metroid Prime 4 does not look great, huh? idk why they insist on giving Samus Federation buddies and bounty hunter rivals, I just want to be a space misanthrope and blow up planets without any yapping.
Pretty similar here, except I still like Dread and don't really like Echoes or Corruption. Kinda on the fence with whether I'll even try Prime 4 tbh.
Happy Birthday!
I agree, 37 feels too close to 40, I want off this train.
Playing it for the first time now. Love the picto system and how flexible it makes things, reminds me a lot of FF7 materia.
