Near finished engraving on a 100x100 mm block of lemonwood. It shows a view along and up vertical columnar basalt cliffs with steep scree slopes below. A path descends towards the viewer from a distant break in the cliffs. Two tiny figures on the path give a sense of scale. A pencil and engraving tool are shown to give scale to the engraving.

The lithograph described in the post, on a wooden table and held in place with two rocks.
This beautiful lithograph shows the Allars Mill unconformity in Jedburgh.
Similar to Siccar Point, the section shows folded Silurian greywackes overlain by horizontal Devonian sandstone.

xckd coming of a flowchart. The top reads "someone is claiming to predict the exact date of a future earthquake. Should you listen?" A diamond-shape says "start" and one arrow leads to a box reading "NO" in very large letters, followed by "(there are big earthquakes constantly, so if anyone ever DOES figure this out, it will be immediately obvious that their method works and then the world's seismologists will not shut up about it. You won't need this flowchart."

A circle motif containing simplified geological artwork. The circle is split with an approximate diagonal from top right to bottom left. The contents of the bottom right represent vertical Silurian greywacke beds, and are shades of grey and brown. The top left sector of the motif is split into a red area, representing sub-horizontal Devonian sandstones directly overlying the greywackes, with a vivid blue above representing the sea and sky (yes, we do get blue skies in Scotland π). Beneatht the circle, text follows the line of the circle and says "looking so far into the abyss of time".
The text beneath the motifs is from John Playfair's famous quote "The mind seemed to grow giddy by looking so far back into the abyss of time." Here is a close up of the original colour motif - water colour pencils. Now I just need to decide which one I want myself π

Screenshot showing four t-shirts in a grid. The top left is a ladies-fit t-shirt in a pale grey with a large circular motif in the centre. The motif shows vertical brown / grey rocks underlying sub-horizontal red rocks, with blue sea or sky in the background. A quote beneat the motif says "... looking so far back into the abyss of time." The top right shows a blue unisex-fit t-shirt with a large, central, circular motif similar to the previous one, but this is just a black outline. Bottom left us a red unisex-fit t-shirt with the same black outline motif, but small and located on the left breast area. Bottom right is a black ladies fit t-shirt with a white version of the simplified motif, large and central.

A close up of the top of the tea towel in the photos in the previous skeet. It shows the top 15cm of the quartz crystal drawing, showing three faces of the prismatic crystal.
I'm really impressed with the print quality on these towels. You can dry your dishes with it or you can hang it on your wall! (If you want this design on a different type of item, let me know and I can try to set it up)

Photograph of a large tea towel with a fairly loose-looking weave. There is a large pencil drawing of a crystal in the centre of the tea towel. To the left is a 30 cm ruler for scale, showing that the length of the drawing is around 50cm. To the right is a cluster of quartz crystals about 15 cm long.
A photograph of the quartz crystals from the previous image being held in a human hand, with the printed tea towel in the background.
Here's a photo of one of the actual items, along with the crystal that modelled for me when I was drawing. This is the cotton-linen blend with the standard edge.

A triangular shaped specimen which resembles a pizza slice. There's a bed of fine, minute white to off-yellow quartz crystals (like cheese on a pizza). This quartz is partially covering blue fluorite octahedra, which have triangular faces all pointing upwards in the same direction. Embedded in the specimen are some purple fluorite crystals and golden coloured chalcopyrite.
Label text: Blue octahedra in parallel position coated with quartz, chalcopyrite and purple fluorite. Caradon Mine, Cornwall.
Specimen on display in the Natural History Museum, London.
I love #minerals that could pass as an alien artefact π
. There's quite a lot going on in this specimen: blue fluorite octahedra all orientated in the same direction, golden chalcopyrite crystals, more fluorite (but purple this time) and a nice coating of white-yellow quartz! #MineralMonday

Outcrop of white, dark and light grey folded banded gneiss, about 2m high with tufts of grass at top. Shows variation of fold inter-limb angle, going from gentle on the left, through open, closed and tight, to isoclinal on the right as a shear zone is approached. Norway somewhere.
Archive photo for #FoldFriday #FridayFold from a Keele field course to Norway ~1990. An image I still use to demonstrate fold classification by inter-limb angle, going from gentle on the left, through open, closed and tight, to isoclinal on the right as a shear zone is approached.
