That’s going to haunt MacKinnon for the rest of his life - he’ll be remembered as a generational talent but not an all-time great
Amazing day of ice hockey. Absolutely nailbiting drama all day long. This is what the Olympics is all about. And this is the medal they all care about most. Curling? Ice dance? Doing tricks on a snowboard? Nah. Gimme a puck drop in a sport millions are glued to any day thank you very much 👊
Bull's eye by @pbsportswriter.bsky.social for @playthegame-org.bsky.social. In private, many football and finance executives will agree that a disaster is brewing. But no-one dares speak out - yet - for fear of precipitating a crisis which will come to pass anyway.
Is football at the frontline of the next financial crisis? Private Equity firms are using complex offshore arrangements to channel insurance money into football. This Bermuda Triangle strategy ended badly for 777 Partners, but could be a preview of the future.

New.
Josh Wander of 777 Partners has been indicted by the DOJ, but what does this mean for A-CAP, their biggest creditor, which has seized most of their assets, football clubs included, and remains accused of being the “puppeteer” pulling their strings?
josimarfootball.com/2025/12/04/t...
Please allow @josimarfootball.bsky.social, @pbsportswriter.bsky.social and myself a minute of self-congratulation. We wrote a total of 39 articles on 777 Partners' house of cards. It was time well spent.

Why are migrant workers in Qatar being recruited as cannon-fodder for Russia in Ukraine, and is labour surplus from the 2022 World Cup responsible? Brilliant reporting from @samindrakunti.bsky.social and @bobbyperu.bsky.social in @josimarfootball.bsky.social josimarfootball.com/2025/09/25/t...
The consistency of the pairs on the blueline is making me wonder who the top pair will be

New.
Giacomo Angelini may be the new owner of Standard de Liège but his ‘takeover’ was funded entirely by A-CAP. How is this possible, and what does it mean for the Pro League club?

Wait until the full story comes out!
I don’t believe so. They needed Everton to attract fresh investors to keep the whole business alive

Stanley Cup finals - & in fact NHL playoffs in general - have been the best sport on TV all year. And there are Finns everywhere! 🇫🇮🏒🥅
Looking forward to getting stuck into this 💙
The Telegraph were "deceived" by someone who claimed to be called Al, married to Ali, have three children called Ali, Barry and Harry, wasn't old enough for his claimed years of work and life experience and who apparently had a gardener who came 24 times a year for a total annual cost of £230.
Was it common sense? Or was Moshiri left with no choice? More than one source told us 777 defaulted on the agreement they signed with him

He’d obviously be a great fit on the ice and generate huge excitement but I’m having a hard time believing he would ditch a contender for a rebuild or that Grier would pay what it would take to tempt him (or that it would be worth it!)
