Cafe Gitane, a Vanguard of Cool, Back on the Scene Again David Bowie loved its couscous. Norman Reedus hung out there. It put avocado toast on the map. Thirty years later, and with a new book honoring it, Cafe Gitane is drawing a fresh crowd.

I know that publishing a book about the cool kids does not, alas, make oneself cool, but this was pretty cool to put together with Cafe Gitane. I can live with cool-adjacent.

So this thing is kind of like Twitter but without the constant flood of attention-demanding push notifications from the noxious obnoxious ceo himself? Sounds nice.

As I do with every social media venture I ambivalently embark upon, I’ll begin with a wish that is also a pun: Someone please open a dive bar in Chinatown called Forget It, Jake. We may need it come next week. πŸ₯ƒ
