Es hat seinen Ursprung in einer römischen Strafaktion, bei der jeder zehnte Soldat in einer Einheit getötet wurde. Und es gibt Menschen im Internet, die jedes Mal darauf bestehen, dass „dezimieren" eine Reduktion um 10% bedeute, obwohl es niemand so benutzt.
Eine der seltsamsten Formen von Aktivismus ist, auf die ursprüngliche Bedeutung von „dezimieren" zu bestehen, obwohl das Wort seit Jahrhunderten anders verwendet wird.
Meine Antwort wäre jetzt: Man könnte ja auch mal schauen, ob es Straßen gibt, wo es früher öfter Stau gab als heute und warum. Aber das ist die Perspektive des Magazin-Journalisten, ich weiß. Und Medien machen das eh. Ich behaupte auch nicht dass ich eine Lösung hätte.
Einige Erfahrungen in den vergangenen Wochen haben meinen Eindruck verstärkt, dass wir zu viel über das Ressentiment “Die Medien sind links-grün” reden u zu wenig über “Die Medien berichten immer nur Schlechtes”.

If you benefit from a country and the platform it gives you, but publicly disrespect it at the same time, that’s what I mean by being a fake citizen. And I agree love is more powerful than hate. Das funktioniert im akademischen Kontext gut, aber im journalistischen kann das Publikum damit intuitiv leider nicht viel anfangen. Ich umschreib es meist („Agency, also die Fähigkeit...").
Es ist aber auch kein häufiges Problem, nur eines, das vor 20 Min wieder mal konkret aufgetreten ist.
Warum kümmert ihr euch nicht mal um relevante Sprachprobleme, zb dass es keine sinvolle Übersetzung für „Agency" gibt
