Decided to take a break this afternoon and I watched the documentary ‘Music By John Williams’. Absolutely loved it. I’m a great fan of soundtrack music and it was wonderful to be shown glimpses of the creative process behind his work. I highly recommend it. You can find it on the Disney Channel.

Helen Sharman became the 1st British person, 1st Western European woman, 1st privately funded woman in space, & 1st woman to visit the Mir space station, in May 1991. Definitely an awesome woman. #InternationalWomensDay

Re-creating the complex cuisine of prehistoric Europeans SEM analysis of pottery residues showed people combined fish with a wide variety of plants when cooking.

Archaeologists are keen to learn more about the diets and culinary practices of ancient populations around the globe, and by examining the residues on prehistoric ceramic pots (and doing a bit of hands-on cooking), they're getting closer.

They sure do. I’ve been using them over winter, releasing the mice at my local nature reserve. Been using my cats’ kibble as bait, which is karma as my cat is singularly useless at hunting/catching anything.

Occasionally I get to work in some amazing locations. At a group exhibition of UK space artists at the Wells & Mendip Museum I sent a few days painting ‘live’ and this was my spot at the first floor bay window. And in the background you can see the majestic Wells Cathedral. What a wonderful view.

Cauliflower, pasta, and cheese bake. Enough for four meals. That’s me sorted for the next few days. I don’t mind eating the same meals in a row when it’s this good.

The Sun is out, temperature is in double digits, I’ve got washing on the line, and I’ve been doing a spot of gardening. Anyone would think that spring has arrived.

February 20th is the 30th anniversary of the MIR space station, with the launch of its core module by the Soviet Union in 1986. The station operated until its controlled reentry in March 2001. This is a digital painting of MIR in orbit, from my Aerospace Portfolio. Created using Adobe Fresco. #space

SpaceX rocket fireball linked to plume of lithium A SpaceX Falcon 9 crashed to Earth last year. Now scientists have measured the pollution it caused.

Evidence is mounting pollution levels resulting from space debris burning up as they deorbit in the Earth’s atmosphere. Scientists are directly linking the uncontrolled SpaceX rocket re-entry in February 2025 to a plume of lithium measured less than 100km above Earth. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

I also like the Icelandic tradition of giving and receiving books on Christmas Eve. I can’t imagine a better way of escaping the commercial Christmas madness than within the pages of a good book.
