Actually, itβs haunting me that I called that my second concert. Lol it was the 2nd concert I saw that wasnβt my uncles performing in The Hose Band. β¬οΈ
Amazing! I know I wouldβve loved to see REM back then. I missed out on so many shows. In 1987, my grandma took me to the 2nd concert I ever saw, Paul Simonβs Graceland tour w/ African players: Miriam Makeba, Hugh Masekela, Ray Phiri, Ladysmith Black Mambazo & Bakithi Kumalo. That def influenced me.
Thatβs cool. I love to hear about it, thank you.
Any other concerts worth mentioning that stood out? Non jazz related even.
Thank you. Hope to see you perform sometime.β€οΈ
Thatβs awesome! Also, I canβt believe Iβve never been to The Knitting Factory. lol
Wow. Yeah.
Perhaps we were both at the same shows⦠lol
So cool and yes to the right symphony at the right time.

Tell me some of the best concerts youβve seen. The Art Ensemble of Chicago got me into avant-garde jazz; I saw them often. OG members: Mitchell, Jarman, Bowie, Favors, Moye sometimes brought 100 instruments on stage; percussion forests, bicycle horns, and other found objects. Incredible theatrics.
