⚡️The future is electric, but the new MOU for a bitumen pipeline signed by the federal government and Alberta threatens Canada's race to electrification. We can’t build a clean energy future while doubling down on fossil fuels. It’s time to choose the better path forward. 🌱

Parties to the conflict must immediately refrain from and cease unlawful attacks, whether direct attacks on civilians, indiscriminate and disproportionate attacks, or the use of explosive weapons.

They must take all feasible precautions to prevent civilian harm.

What was true about Bay du Nord in 2022 is still true today
-a carbon bomb = 100 coal-fired power plants
-a deep-water disaster waiting to happen & a threat to fisheries and ocean biodiversity
-it won't lead to long-term prosperity or jobs

How does the expenditure of government energy and taxpayer dollars benefit communities?

What are the risks of #LNG projects? Are they REALLY of national interest?

(Spoiler alert: they're not). #GreenSky

ISDS vs. The Climate: How a Colonial-Era Investment Mechanism Jeopardises a Just Transition Read the new report setting out what is wrong with ISDS, exploring the colonial origins of this regime and proposing what countries can do to move away from ISDS.

Most ISDS cases target Global South countries, while most investors come from a small number of wealthy nations (including #Canada), reinforcing deep global inequalities.

Climate justice starts with ending this imbalance. ✊

ISDS allows fossil fuel companies to sue governments over policies designed to meet #climate commitments & protect the #environment.

Even the threat of an #ISDS claim can lead to governments reversing, weakening, or abandoning legitimate public-interest policies.
