I made them a BOUNTY HUNTER chosen by some unknown, new sort of god and gifted a black staff with no end. Any sensible person would know the staff is cursed as all heck, I would draw it so extends out of frame no matter what. They feed it who knows what in exchange for power..or maybe it feeds them.
