Have you been able to upload the intermediate UKMT answer sheets? I keep getting an error
Nearly 7000 questions into the marking and I have come to the conclusion that students cannot write 4 anymore. It looks like a y or a 9. What is this all about??
Marking GCSE questions at the moment. So many candidates do not use a curly x!! My eyes hurt😢 However, I was sent this on how you write your x’s, so maybe I’m evil😂

Having a big clear out at school! There are loads of class sets of text books (not just maths) that we no longer need. Is there anywhere that we can donate these to? Any charities? Seems such a waste them just sat there when they could be used.

Anyone use textbooks at GCSE for maths? Just wondering if they are a thing of the past or still useful. It seems they are used at A-Level?? Don’t teach ALevel but my daughter had one when she did it.

In #MathsToday we went on a trip and did the UKMT Team Challenge. They did so well and it was a great day.
In #MathsToday we did some gorgeous quadratic simultaneous equations and probabilities that turned into quadratics to solve. We had a lovely time.
In #mathstoday we did completing the square. I really enjoyed it. Great video on MathsPad
#MathsToday some year 10’s have asked me to run a Darts club which I am very happy to do (even though the RA will be rather intense I imagine). Any other maths departments do this and got any advice??
