no amount of eating right, exercising, and sleep will make me okay with being entombed in the prison that is the corporeal form.

Woman goes to the library. Says she needs a meeting room. Says he feels all alone in a threatening world where what lies ahead is vague and uncertain. Library worker says, 'Is it just you?' Woman bursts into tears. 'Well, Katie, yes and no.’

Screenshot of a tweet from Jonathan Edward Durham (@thisone0verhere) that reads: 'An underrated aspect of public libraries is that they're one of the last true no-pressure zones. Want to buckle down and do work? Great. Want to go sit by yourself and read? Also great! Need a book? Here, take it! A computer? You don't even have to ask! Can only stay for a little bit? Awesome. Want to hang around for 8 hours? They literally love that for you! You can feel it the moment you walk in and it's so so necessary.' The tweet is overlaid on a photo of the Ypsilanti District Library stacks.

Fowldyr are a closed species created by Stasanie (me)

A drawing of a winged deer-like creature with a pelt in shades of cream, gold, and brown. His wings are lined with jade coloured feathers with gilded edges. Around his neck is a thick green rope from which many jade beads and tassels hang. He stands in a shallow pond with red lily pads scattered across the surface. Swaying red willow branches streak across the canvas.

Danny & Ross commissioned this scene depicting a tender moment between their dragons - a pothos inspired dragon and a beetle inspired dragon. The larger dragon gently caresses her lady in waiting, putting weight on the leaf to draw her closer.

A commission for bardybirdy featuring the OC Errai. A drawing of a dragon posed against a starry blue night sky. The dragon is mostly dark shades of blue and purple with golden accents. She has large feathered wings and a curved crystal horn. Her neck curls around a comet, her golden claws gently caressing the comet's tail. The radiant light of the comet casts serpentine rays that mimic the stylized flow of her mane.

A digital drawing of a pink deer in a stylized forest scene. The grass is glowing shades of yellow, orange, and soft reds. The bushes in the distance are blue, and the night sky is speckled with stars. A pink fawn looks curiously at a glowing star that has fallen from the sky.

3 Screenshots from the movie "AmΓ©lie" (2001): First, a young woman with short dark hair and a green shirt sits at a table with an elderly man wearing a thick hat and brown robe, examining a photo album with the subtitle, "There he is again." Second, a close-up of the open photo album showing various passport-sized photos, with the subtitle, "And here. 'March 5, Austerlitz.'" Third, a detailed view of more photos, some showing a bald man with an expressionless face, accompanied by the subtitle, "Always the same blank face. Always neutral."

Sorry I'm not more open-minded about LLMs, it's just some fucking maniacs shoveled out a bunch of useless bloatware featuring that technology, did not give me any chance to opt out, reorganized the entire economy around it, zeroed out gains made by green energy, and made it impossible to buy RAM

If you're doomscrolling, guess what? So far there are 51 kākāpō chicks hatched and thriving this season, the same number of birds as we had in TOTAL in the 90s! Only one chick has died and there are still fertile eggs waiting to hatch!

Liberals to cut CBC by $192-million in 2026-27 This year’s estimates include $1.38-billion in funding for the CBC, representing a marked decrease from the $1.58-billion allotted to the public broadcaster during the 2025-26 fiscal year.

Mark Carney campaigning in April 2025:

"When we compare ourselves to the U.K., France or Germany, we see that our public broadcaster is underfunded. That has to change. We expect that in the coming years, we will continue to increase that funding...”

Congress Is Considering Abolishing Your Right to Be Anonymous Online The bipartisan push to remove anonymity from the internet is ushering in an era of unprecedented mass surveillance and censorship.

"Stripping anonymity from the internet would constitute one of the most sweeping rollbacks of civil rights in recent history. It would allow for unprecedented levels of mass surveillance and censorship, endangering the most marginalized members of society."

I think reading books actually causes severe damage to the language center of the brain. Reading books is how you get people saying shit like "amidst," which is a word that no one knows how to use anymore. I use it constantly and the youth knock me down to kick me daily while shouting "worldstar!"

really tired of conversations about how we need to get people to spend more time offline that don't acknowledge that one of the reasons people ARE online is their access needs aren't being met in physical spaces. This is especially true for queer people and disabled people.

If a landlord is that strapped for cash, how the fuck are they paying for the necessary repairs, maintenance needs, etc?

i would contend that if a landlord is so strapped for cash that delaying evictions by 60 days would make them insolvent, they're an extremely bad landlord and should not be one.

Bad Internet Bills All of the bad internet bills. One website.

THREAD: Whenever imperialist governments go to war, they become more authoritarian at home.

That makes censorship bills like KOSA, ID checks, and attacks on Section 230 even more dangerous.

Online protest, documenting war crimes, even news articles could be suppressed.
