drizzling rain + snow is forecast. i really donβt want a spring snowstorm.
happy popsicle day
winners + losers, etc. definitions of win/lose will vary, but one thing is clear:
itβs creating a new class of software devs who are completely replaceable. stunning to imagine work of mine for which i billed $80k over 3 days is now the output of a prompt.
Understanding cause and effect (if I hit the snooze button then Iβll get more sleep) and second order thinking (but then Iβll be late for work) are the basics of being an intelligent person.
Unfortunately we decided to elect the dumbest and most spiteful people we could find to the highest offices.
iβve seen a lot of commoditization. CICD systems were once (always) bespoke + wld make or break a companyβs dev cadence. today? write a build file, plug it in + move on. 20 mins tops.
if the tools can (do?) encapsulate near-total dev knowledge, then zero-to-[thing] time is collapsed to hours.
happy Saturday
JERRY NOOOOOO
just learned a tech industry friend passed away. sad and hits close to home.
back when i was on the conference circuit, iβd see him 2x a yr + weβd always have great conversations.
RIP Pat. you were one of the decent ones.
that is a mental image i did not request
i much prefer days when fewer things happen

A man is using a chainsaw to cut through a huge block of frozen snow on the edge of a yard. He is standing on the sidewalk holding the chainsaw with both hands as he leans over a nearly four foot tall pile of frozen snow.
snow, you say? be sure you have your chainsaw gassed up.
if DEMs sweep the chimney in NOV, the swallows return to Cappuccino. think of the coffee birds, people
JERRY NOPEG
i was outside for 4 hours yesterday moving rocks in just a t-shirt. the neighbors repeatedly asked me to put on pants.
hopping on the moto to meet friends for lunch. the riding Kevlars are now too big in the waist after 60 days of training.
another sign from the universe that itβs time to say goodbye to the moto. i kinda feel this one but itβs the beginning of a whole new chapter of life: full-time travel.
moved the last ton of rock. good work out
Mr. Flav is amazing
