Didn’t finish:
• MA Wardell, MISTLETOE AND MISHIGAS. Too cute for me, and the dialogue wasn’t great.
• Lloyd Alexander, THE BOOK OF THREE. I wish I’d had the chance to imprint on this before I learned about the Bechdel Test.

Sharon Shinn, WRAPT IN CRYSTAL, finished 3/5. Reread. I still love this, but I have questions about how the cop goes about solving a case.
They killed 180 children and their teachers in a double-tap strike on a school. The girls were 7 to 12 years old.
trying to imagine doing Wellesley, Yale Law, a legal career, eight years in the Senate, a term as Secretary of State, and two presidential campaigns only to sit and listen to gotchas from someone best known for giving a hand job at a musical production of Beetlejuice
Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck
Quote from Washington Times editorial board "[Radical liberals] don't realize that, when they express contempt for the man who holds the country's highest office, they reveal their contempt for the Americans who put him there."
Uh no...we definitely realize it.
Cults really do love to control everything. I learned from an ex-Jehovah’s Witness friend that they’re not allow to have facial hair, and he could clock other XJW dudes because they’d all grow (terrible) beards the minute they left.
IT’S OUR TIME. EVERYBODY CELEBRATE THE WEDDING THIS MOMENT CREATED www.youtube.com/watch?v=jPCJ...
I hope you aren’t drunk and took your staff’s advice, Rashida and I don’t know this man and feel confident he didn’t care about us. Please restrain from drinking too much as you have been warned from your staff and stay off social media when you are drunk. I pray in his holy month you find peace and respect for your self,
uhhh oh my god
this is your mission. our pedophile president needs you to bomb this elementary school full of kids because he thinks it makes him look cool. also his scheming viziers will be betting money on it for fun. good luck soldier
they’re Siamese, definitely ¡cállate!
A digital drawing of author Maia Kobabe, a white nonbinary person with short brown hair wearing a patterned blue shirt, who scowls while holding up a copy of eir book GENDER QUEER: A MEMOIR. Maia is saying: H.R. 7661 is a national book banning bill which seeks to remove any book that "involves gender dysphoria or transgenderism" from all public schools in the US. This would ban my books, and any other book with trans themes, from public schools. PLEASE call your House Reps and say: NO ON H.R. 7661!

For what is apparently the 10,001st post on Skepchick (and my own 3,000th), it's a HAPPY STORY of how scientists have shown that Dolly Parton is substantially improving literacy rates around the world through her Imagination Library 🧪 skepchick.org/2026/02/stud...
As of tonight, licenses of trans people across Kansas are being invalidated en masse, enabling the overnight criminalization of an entire group of people for going about our lives. It’s often said you never know when you’re living through history, so let me assure you: that’s what’s happening now.
🤮🤮🤮
Liany Arroyo '98 says the only time she recalled talking about fertility in college was "people trying to buy our eggs with ads in the Wellesley News. I didn't qualify because I was of Latina descent and didn't have the SAT scores they wanted."
Oh my god I forgot about the egg donor ads in the college news. Rich people reeeeeally wanted white Seven Sisters eggs.
Okay fine the article is good. Economics, policies, social shifts, fertility issues, they talked to childfree people, I’m not mad.
cover of the Wellesley magazine with an illustration of a stork carrying an empty handkerchief
close-up of the cover text reading “Where Are the Babies? Wellesley experts offer insights into the global fertility drop.”
oh no my alumnae magazine is rage-baiting me personally
They won't start with banning birth control. First they'll lie about it. Then dictate who can prescribe it, use it, fund it, in what forms, and for how long. Suddenly, your doctor won't call you back. I know this is what they'll do because it's what they're doing to transgender healthcare right now.
HOLY COW
The Humble Bundle has been extended for another week because they were so pleased with our success so far.
Please tell your friends. There's one more chance to help this essential organization. <3

This screaming may occur at any time of day, but the most popular times are 6am, during work calls, and whenever I’ve just gotten into deep focus. I actually miss Vivienne’s horrible mangled crowing right now, and I hope she’s very happy on that farm downriver.
The days are finally long enough for the chickens to start laying again, which means my neighbors and I are treated to two hours a day of Scout screaming because Harry is on the good nest box. Yes there is another nest box, no Scout will not use it.
Claire North, THE SUDDEN APPEARANCE OF HOPE, finished 2/19. Excellent, but time for a break from North.
Yes! I was just there today!
now I really want to know how she sits in a chair
SO GOOD! "the idea that my political ideology is synonymous with hating technology is confusing. Every leftist I know has a hard-on for high speed rail or mRNA vaccines. But the “left is missing out” blog positions generative AI as the only technology that matters." -- @xoxogossipgita.bsky.social
"why are you against progress" I yell confidently as my sloppily-implemented algorithms prematurely murder your grandma
Although I did recently see a PHQ with a score of 0 and I want to ask that person what they’re on and can I try some.
I work for a clinic and compile our depression screening data regularly and I assure you that at least in a population level we are aware and make adjustments for the state of the world.
I regularly see people wondering how it's possible that there are so many musicians and writers and film makers and artists from a tiny nation like Iceland.
And the answer is really simple: State funding for art education and artists. I literally get a salary from the government to write books.
