My parish is basically college kids, me (29, single), parents, and then a bunch of people 60+.
I hang with the parents. I volunteer at children and youth stuff, I babysit their kids, etc. Basically always being around has helped me fit into their community?
I realize that might not be helpful.

Yup. As a teenager I had an incredibly unhealthy relationship with it, and since then various priests/others have encouraged me to use it to add something rather than subtract, which I can deal with in theory. But once we get close to it I just nope out.

I get the spirit but I feel like anyone in public school at the time of "Born This Way" knows at least half a dozen guys who literally came out because of Lady Gaga. Living through the period of "Born This Way" (2011) -> Obergefell (2015) was a whirl wind in how public opinion can radically change.
