One was a veterinarian, the other a painter
well...when it went crazy in the aughts and teens and there was bacon bandaids bacon vodka, bacon stuffies, bacon slippers, bacon bacon bacon everywhere it was a bit much
I thought we'd finally left the bacon obsession behind...
These are the main roles I've been looking at, but they are hotly contested and for a few of them I know I'm getting dinged for not having commercialization experience. Though I've worked at CDMOs doing process development since 2018 and thus have a quite good grasp at that aspect of the work
What would be the title/keyword I'd need to be looking for in this case? outside of just searching for "sourcing"
Apologies for a mass ping, but; @chemjobber.bsky.social @dereklowe.bsky.social @quantumtessera.bsky.social @bagphos.bsky.social @safechem79.bsky.social @drlcsquare.bsky.social
Are there other fields to look into that people suggest to go from lab to WFH? Medical writing is one I see upon searching but I've never done that. Project management?
Will be moving to a locale with fairly limited lab-based process chemistry positions available come July. as such I'm becoming more invested in searching for fully remote #chemjobs - preferably in the process chemistry ouvre, at this point open to others as well. Advice or help greatly appreciated
Meanwhile my undergraduate email, i graduated in 2011, still exists and i could reactivate as an alumni if I wanted (i think). My grad email got killed like...2 months after I defended? and my pitt postdoc email died like 2 weeks after I left. I too just use a 'professional' personal email for jobs
Does anyone know of careers/companies in the (renewable) energy space for synthetic organic chemists?
do you need to somehow get a symbol into 60 across like in the other clues?
Yes, quite enjoyable.
Organic chemistry
JRR Tolkein
Myths and Legends
Shakespeare comedies and tragedies
Inorganic Chemistry
ostensibly it's so they have the "freedom" of making their own choices in brand and style of tool, and so they can take it with them if they move to a different company but it's still ludicrous
I wasn't shocked because I've known a few mechanics and knew about the whole needing to stock their own mega toolbox thing, but it's definitely a shock when you first come across it
Imagine if we were told we needed to rock up to the lab with our own stock of RBFs, stirring apparatuses, and HPLCs
The βprosecute the former regime at every levelβ candidate has my vote in 2028.
I need some wise sage (or the cliche career aptitude test from the television) to just tell me what (fully remote) jobs I could do and enjoy based on what I've already done
Theranos 2.0?
REVERSE QUENCHING MENTIONED
are you sure you're not a process chemist?
Dumb take
Pitch clock and three-batter minimums my beloveds
we take all the small wins we can get
(should add...not the BS "train our AI" jobs the boards are littered with)
Thanks :)

JANKEES LOSE
Anyone on #chemsky have thoughts or insights into fully remote jobs that still live in the process development chemistry realm? May potentially need to transition to a remote position next year and trying to plan ahead
Tobias Funke needed this class
Pitch clock and 3 batter minimum are amazing additions.
