I have moved from the “How am I going to write a paper on this topic” stage of research for my SBL paper and am now in the “How am I going to write a paper instead of a whole book” stage.

Haha that’s great!
Gotta love this in Tobit 7:10-11:
Ragouel:
1) Eat, drink, and be merry, Tobias! You get to marry my daughter, Sara!
2) Oh but maybe I should explain something to you. She’s married seven other men and each one dies on their wedding night.
3) Anyways, be merry!
😂
SBL proposal accepted! See y’all in Boston this November!
One day, publishers will accept .mellel. Until then, we must suffer well.
Nothing like having your writing momentum ruined by MS Word freaking out at a font change you made to a *Greek* style by bolding all the *Hebrew* in the document. I’ve fixed it (by reverting), but this was a 20 minute interruption with me pulling my (metaphorical) hair out 🙄
WHAT WAS IN THAT HAM SANDWICH, PETER
Big claim. You can bring me one next SBL and I’ll assess.
It’s Christmas night/Boxing Day wee morning hours. I should go to bed. But the house is quiet, I have very nice bourbon, and there’s a JRPG to play.
We’ve all been there! Press on and keep up the good work!
Wait, you thought I’ve been celebrating and supporting you? I gotta work on my communication skills.
Fabulous!
😆 happy to be of help!
You should come!
I don’t think they have released the list of conference speakers, but I can at least say that I’ll be there presenting on why the label ‘Semitism’ is dumb when talking about language phenomena in postclassical Greek. That’s the basic gist but I’ll say it ✨fancy✨
Marieke Dhont, Mark Janse, and John Lee will deliver keynote presentations.
This sure-to-be-phenomenal conference!
Getting ready to cross the Pacific on my way home. Loved seeing old friends and making new ones at #sblaar24! It was a blast of a conference full of good papers, meetings, and food. See y’all next year in Boston! (Or in Sydney next August for the Septuagintally inclined 😉)
Came all the way to San Diego to get a chest infection. See all my #SBLAAR24 folks in 24 hours once the antibiotics have kicked in 😭
The weather is great here! Looking forward to seeing you!
One flight down. Two more to go. The long one over the Pacific is starting now … see y’all soon in San Diego! #SBLAAR
Almost time for that magnificent time of the year: #SBLAAR! Who else will be in San Diego next week?
Haven’t seen this one yet…
Give it a share if you would.
Help me find out who else is on here. Reply if in OT/HB studies and I’ll add you.

Yo!
The academic year starts next week and that’s exciting (especially looking forward to my second-year Hebrew class!), but honestly I’m more stoked about seeing a group of my students tonight for our first D&D session of the year 🤷🏼♂️🤓
Come work with me! Bible College SA is hiring a Faculty Leader. See the advertisement below and get in touch!
Can’t wait to see y’all!
Commencing 26+ hours of travel from Adelaide, South Australia, to San Antonio, Texas. Can’t wait to see everyone at SBL/ETS/IBR!
Today was the final exam for first-year Greek. And boy did my students PASS.
(As much as I want to say the bottle of Blanton’s is the best part, the card with notes from each student is so touching, special, and perfect ❤️)
