If Iβm understanding this correctly, X is owned by a white nationalist who pays poor people of color in developing countries to pretend to be working class white Americans to scare other white Americans into being afraid poor people of color from developing countries are going to ruin America?

A hand holding a dripping wet, bulging-eyed, flat-faced cat looking sadly at the camera.
βThe cat is such a perfect symbol of beauty and superiority that it seems scarcely possible for any true aesthete and civilised cynic to do other than worship it.β

We are alarmed by reports that Germany is on the verge of a catastrophic about-face, reversing its longstanding and principled opposition to the EUβs Chat Control proposal which, if passed, could spell the end of the right to privacy in Europe. signal.org/blog/pdfs/ge...

When bypassing that code, we no longer see segfaults β even where we donβt have reforking enabled. So reforking was not causing the problem, it was just amplifying an existing problem.

Small Ruby trick: Set up a `~/.default-gems` file in your home directory. These gems will be automatically installed when you install Ruby. Works out of the box with ASDF and Mise!

Yes, we are running Ruby 3.4.2. I did read the fork safety guide, and I will keep it (and you) updated if/when we determine which libraries are causing us trouble.

Thank you for another great article. We are currently looking into segfaults (on staging) after enabling reforking, so all of the articleβs explanations and links to various tools and example PRs is going to be very helpful.

The gem minitest-speed βadds test hooks to verify the time it takes to run the setup, body, and teardown phases of each test. If the time of any phase goes over the maximum time, it fails the test.β Sounds like what youβre looking for?
