We met on twitch around 2015 for the launch of Volume and you've been a big inspiration for me ever since - thank you for that. It was part of what got me into game dev.

I think I like this. It takes up one lane, and covers the entire screen by the time you touch it - so I can trigger a teleport to the real tunnel and play a transition animation. The game is really coming together!

Using a stencil shader to mask a copy of the tunnel to be displayed via a mesh. Starting to assemble this, I'm sure I can blend it in better than a quad. Is there a better way to do this?

Quick progress vid, figuring out a shader for this. And particles! This should be a bit easier on the eyes, and the "lanes" will be used to line up targets.

I agree. I'm thinking a noise shader might brighten the empty space and make it less "flashy". Animating it to compensate for the game speed might mitigate the seizure inducing effects as well, but I should probably just allow toggling these effects. Thanks for the feedback!

Prototyping a "warp tunnel" transition for Velocity Vortex for when you hit a target speed. The movement could be a lot smoother but I'm dragging the slider to show how movement might work. What do you think?
