It works brilliantly. And the colour strobe across him is a brilliant touch!

I've been after one of those to complete my run from #94 to #300... waiting for a bargain to show up on eBay. 🀞 Here's my contribution; Captain Britain #1 from 1976, featuring the first appearance of the good Captain, by Chris Claremont & Herb Trimpe. Sadly, I don't have the free mask!

USHMM acquires β€˜Captain America’ comic with superhero punching Hitler β€œHere were Simon and Kirby, sending their star-spangled avatar to deck Hitler right on the cover,” pop-culture historian Roy Schwartz told JNS.

Riot Games founder donates Captain America #1 to U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum. "Simon & Kirby got death threats from the German American Bund. 22,000 of them had marched down Fifth Avenue the year prior."

James Cameron's Thunderbirds.
As much as we're meant to be rooting for the Na'vi in the Avatar movies, it's abundantly obvious that Cameron's true love is military-grade hardware, in all its greasy glory. Cameron is just a big budget Gerry Anderson.

Honestly, this is one of the best flying scenes I've ever seen. Just no nonsense... a dude taking off, without any dumb crouching on the ground or leaving behind an impact crater.

[We see a close up of a young white male, tanned, white teeth, coiffed hair clearly an influencer on social media. It is an image such as you see when social media posts are shown on the news. In the corner of the screen is named a location: DUBAI. He is staring slightly off-camera for several silent panels of the comic strip. His eyes move slightly. He is having a thought.]

From off-screen a newsreader’s commentary comes:

NEWSREADER:

Extraordinary images here

of an expat in Dubai

[The influencer’s eybrows raise slightly]

…Having their first ever geopolitical thought.

[CUT TO a BBC news scene. The BBC newsreader CLIVE MYRIE is talking to an interviewee next to the screen showing the social media influencer’s face. The interviewee’s name is David Jones].

CLIVE MYRIE:

To explain the significance of this moment we’re joined by David Jones, our Expat Thoughts correspondent

DAVID JONES:

Clive, this is momentous

It was caught on film at the end of an Instagram post titled: β€˜Dubai Is Brilliant’.

[Pointing at the screen, the influencer’s expression still the same]

You can clearly see in the eyebrows here, the dawning realisation that there *might* be something in the world beyond his dickhead self.

It marks a *huge* departure from all the Dubai Expat’s previous thoughts.

CLIVE MYRIE:

Which are…?

DAVID JONES:

You've Got To Get Yourself Out Here Mate, Everything Is So Clean, I Don't Have To Pay Taxes,
I Am Incurious As To Why I Do Not Have To Pay Taxes, and Spa.

CLIVE MYRIE:

And might we see an expansion of these new Thoughts in coming days?

DAVID JONES:

I think we can expect to see:

β€œI Deserve To Be Airlifted By A Country I Pay No Tax To”

CLIVE MYRIE:

Mmm.

[Ends]

Is that from the Balder The Brave series? Was somebody else supposed to ink it originally? His pencils are incredibly tight... beautiful stuff.

* Adding descriptions of your images helps vision impaired people to "see" your images. Obviously!

* Alt text shows up in searches. You can add hashtags, metadata, descriptions, search terms etc., all of which will help boost the reach of your posts.

* It doesn't have to be a chore! Personally, I also use them to add aditional information to my posts, such as the names of the artists etc., if there's not enough room in the main body of the post. And I sometimes add a meta-commentary on my post if I'm feeling witty!

* People who add alt text to their images are statistically proven to be more attractive and better lovers than those who don't.

Look, I enjoyed it enough to watch it twice - the second time with my wife, who also enjoyed it a lot - but you didn't. I'm not going to explain why you should enjoy it or not. I don't feel it should add anything to the MCU. It was just a Marvel Spotlight on a great character - two of them, in fact.
