I have only used this medication in a few patients. But it is interesting that it caused hypotension in one of my patients that I had to stop her ACE. When I looked at Lexicomp for PNH, it said hypertension. But a few of the experts had seen this AE before. #NephJC
I asked Dr Dixon (my mentor) about sequential complement blockade before and he said he would be really concern about the infectious risk but def a future study to look at #NephJC
Agree! We have so many complement therapies now but not enough markers for continued monitoring. A selfish plug but our working group did a review on those biomarkers #NephJC: pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/41404698/
Love this trial, included pediatric data! @rheaultm.bsky.social is smiling now. #NephJC
Yeah I am actually surprised at how receptive people have been when I prescribe it to my Peds patients. Granted I give them Emla cream to use. I have people prefer subQ over oral Wegovy on the adult side. #NephJC
I remember learning about MPGN in my First Aid book and it made no sense. Glad they changed it! How many of yall have seen C4GN? Just learning about it now #NephJC
Late to the game but a pediatric nephrologist here in CO. No COI #NephJC
Canβt wait for this discussion. Already have a few patients on it and have been going well! #NephJC

The future of nephrology
Appreciate this excellent work showing GLP-1 agonists reduce mortality in patients on dialysis and improve their chances of receiving a transplant. Hopefully, it will help me get them approved for my patients through the VA. #nephsky journals.lww.com/cjasn/pages/...

How many people see HSP as a spectrum of IgAN? Feel like most in the pediatric world see HSP more acutely and if persists past a year treat it like IgAN #NephJC
The one other caveat about children is they tend to have more acute lesions like crescents. That is one major difference reasons why in pediatrics we are more aggressive with immunosuppression #NephJC

So exciting! Also itβs a non peptide form so you donβt have to fast!
Yup! Especially if it synchronizes with telmisartan. Only barrier is the cost of it. But hopeful it will come down, especially with oral formulations coming out in 1-2 years! Orfoglipron showing 13% weight loss and no need to fast! #NephJC
Thatβs really interesting. I wonder why? Feel like most PCP I see still use lisinopril the most and then use ARB #NephJC
