I find all the Holocaust inversion, downplaying and outright denialism especially alarming. I’m also troubled that education around the Holocaust has eroded. It’s incumbent upon those of us who’ve been affected by it to teach others and make sure the world never forgets.
Also, I feel it’s important to note on #HolocaustRemembranceDay I am very disturbed by the rising antisemitism we’ve seen over the past few years and the normalization of it. The Holocaust did not start with the camps, it started with words and dehumanization.
On this #HolocaustRemembranceDay I’m thinking about my grandfather, who was the only member of my family to survive Auschwitz. And I’m of course thinking about the 6 million who did not survive.
