I'm old enough to remember the droves of middle-aged people attending cardio clinics with valvular disease after rhematic fever in child hood. I've long thought that covid, particularly long covid, will throw up something similar in years to come

In the lectionary we use (UK Methodists) it's transfiguration today (Matt 17:1-9). Seems the right place in the scheme of things to me

Still get "ooohs" and "aaahs" when I say I was at Cambridge, particularly if I say I am a rowing blue, but that's mainly from people of our era

Am in touch with three from my year (one was agriculture but we rowed together). One of them has already agreed to my suggestion that we meet, and we'll see if anyone else is around. I know one has died. I moved on to the London for clinical, as there was no clinical available at Addenbrookes
