Today, UK beer brands of the #1970s; Cameron's Strongarm.
Is that something of a change of direction for your research?
Another big shout out for #1980s UK perfumes. I present the Lentheric range: Elle, Finesse, It, Just Musk, Mystique, Panache, Sol Accent, Sol Candid, Sol Destiny, Sol Rebel, Tramp, and Tweed.
Today I am looking at perfumes advertised around Christmas in the UK in the #1980s. Loving the names: Atkinson Indolence, Faberge Babe, Faberge Touch of Class, Hartnell In Love, Paco Rabanne Metal, Revlon Intimate, Yardley Laughter. Will these grace any stockings or his year?
This must surely be the no.1 Bluesky follow. Or is it just me?
Blast, rumbled again!
Just to be completely clear, and contrary to some speculation, this has absolutely nothing to do with me.
Caught the tail end of a piece featuring @arusbridger.bsky.social on Radio 4 #Today programme this morning discussing media literacy. Seemed to suggest a response to @ofcom.bsky.social report? Anyone know anything further/more specific?
Spotted in Oundle School bookshop @gillianobrien.bsky.social. Takes all sorts.
December 1983 presents Berol DoodleArt! What a great joy these presented, often so vast in scale they had to be done on the floor, meaning the best Axminster got touched up as well. A merry #Christmas all round!

Great to see you here @katieamery.bsky.social. Hope all is well with you and yours.
Absolute classic @johnlewisretail.bsky.social #Christmas ad this year speaking to the ethos of 'decent consumerism' & 'decontaminating' (profane) products into sacred objects. See me after class to discuss further www.johnlewis.com/content/chri...
Excellent stuff @simonparkin.bsky.social yet another for the reading listβ¦
Many congratulations, a vital scholarly intervention (and another for my reading list) π
Look out #Liverpool, looks like #Norfolk have their own designs on the Fab Four.
Todayβs offering, whether you want it or not, is a great press ad from Lego. Dating to November 1980, this was, in part, a reaction to the rise of electronic/digital toys.
This, from Hasbro, is a little weird to my mind. The 1983 Glowormβ¦
The wonderful Fisher-Price here offer their printing set of 1982. Yes, that ink will get everywhere with random letters appearing on your soft furnishings.
I am an emigre from that other place and figured I ought to make an effort to appear βattractiveβ. The best I can offer is British #Christmas press #advertising of the #1980s. Stay tunedβ¦
