Time for King’s Quest V It's been a while since I last played a King's Quest game. So the time is right for another adventure, the fifth installment in the series. I started by copying all the files from the floppies to a MisterFS shared folder on the ao486 core on the MiSTer. Sadly, I cannot dir into the folder from inside MS-DOS. Finished Space Quest I: Hero of Xenon I did it! I finished Space Quest I without having to go back to the beginning to pick something up again. After the last session where I had to go back and pick up the knife to open the grate, I progressed through the enemy spaceship until the end. I loved this part. Yes, I can imagine! 😁 I've reread the whole series a couple of years ago. I am planning to do so again, but I'm still too bummed out about the cancellation of the TV series. 😢

Moved my MiSTer from Mini-ITX to Amiga 1200 I keep changing my mind about what to do with my Amiga 1200 case. Now I've gone and put my MiSTer in. Random additions: Commandos, Windows 98, The Stand on VHS and Cd’s Some random additions. Amongst them Commandos: Beyond the Call of Duty. I see this game being offered every so often and I knew that I would buy it someday, and now was the time. I loved the original Commandos game and I've never played these additional scenario's. I believe it wasn't reviewed as well as the original game, but it's enough if I play it just one time on a rainy afternoon.

Reached the Horizon Just a short message to remind my future self that my son and I finished the World Tour of Horizon Chase 2. We've only completed 40% of the game, but I don't think we'll do much more. We found the first game more enjoyable. We both agreed that the game felt a bit unfair. The speed feels too fast, corners too unexpected (most were just over the hill), and upgrades and cars too limited.

A flat Oblivion to accompany the small Oblivion because there’s no big box Oblivion The Elder Scrolls is a nice series to collect for. There are all sorts of different variants of the games. Arena has a regular and a Deluxe Edition, Daggerfall has at least 10 editions (see them at bigboxcollection.com)! Morrowind also has a lot of cool editions. And then there are the spin-offs. But Oblivion is where it starts to thin out.

The sequel Horizon Chase II has been out for a while now. And while I read the reviews stating that it's not the better game, I still wanted to play it someday. I have been waiting for a physical release for the PS4, but that hasn't happened, so I picked up the digital version in the December sale.

I can imagine solving puzzles in The Dig made you feel smart. I've always found puzzles that require you to think "like an alien" really difficult.

Reading those in-game Oblivion books on actual paper Playing video games is great and it's my favorite hobby. I cannot spend enough time playing games.* But it does involve an awful lot of time staring at a screen and that's not something my ageing eyes can always appreciate. It's good to take regular breaks and look at something else for a change. Preferably something farther away or closer by.
