My second thought (after oh, I've never seen or heard of this) was I'd try that, seems like something that would be good to keep and say a hiking backpack.

I love how goats climb on top of stumps and fallen tree trunks and just stand there
A packet of instant caffeinated ramen noodles called boost noodle, to be slurped from a pouch like those applesauces for kids
Picture of a person slurping caffeinated noodles from a foil pouch
Did a little research to update some slides on caffeine products for my class & help students w/ some upcoming conference presentations.
Here's a couple phrases/products I hadn't heard about until now:
"caffeinated instant ramen" and "boost noodles."
Marketed to gamers apparently?
He could definitely be a cat model, this kind of looks like a print ad for little cat treats or something.
Did the same thing for both black phones! And yeah very similar thoughts, lots of elm Street vibes
Share your mood for the weekend.
Something more like this cat, I think, here
What did you think of the black phone 2 movie? My wife and I watched it a week or two ago and really dug it. Very cool looking album too
Maybe they bought it because their son's name is Brandon or something and they don't really know what it means?
Really good beer, one of the better pumpkin beers I've had. A dark ale almost like a stout. Hey it's almost halfoween
An orange beer label with leaves and pumpkins from reunion Brewery in Iowa
Beer label with a zombie version of Charlie Brown popping out of a pumpkin with the words Charlie's Brown ale it's the great pumpkin spiced brown ale
New favorite beer label! From reunion Brewery near Iowa City
I do this too (or pour a bit of cold brewed coffee into my hot coffee, if I have any in the fridge). That way I can still quickly chug it without having a scorched tongue all day and ruining my lunch later
I've personally been driving around blasting the theme to The NeverEnding story. There are some great covers!
fyi if anyone else is looking for a good mental status exam demo my wife actually recommended this one, by Sommers-Flanagan: youtu.be/adwOxj1o7po?...
Does anyone have or know of a good practice/demo video (on YouTube or wherever) I can show in class and have students use to do a very basic/rudimentary mental status exam? Of someone role playing mental health symptoms for example?

I should say, un encrypted or unsecured smartphones
Yes I don't get how they're really legal to wear at any job much less a healthcare related one? I know people that manage tech or data for say, healthcare companies and they aren't even allowed to have iPhones or Amazon Alexa devices in the room while at work.
Well tbf these are freshmen, none of them interested in psychiatry, only a few really interested in some sort of mental health counseling. But still I think learning to talk to and interact with people is pretty important.
It's intended to be a kinda fun, easy assignment they can easily get some free points on just by say, walking around & chatting with folks between classes. But so many students purposely left items blank, that they couldn't google/AI, rather than go ask folks. More reason to encourage it, I guess?
I've been giving a class assignment based on Dan Segrist's Getting to Know Your Psych Department Scavenger Hunt, that I updated to require students to ask Qs of people (eg. what got you interested in psych?) in the dept like our office manager, GAs staffing our resource/tutoring center, & professors
None of those would last for 30 seconds around here, with our hungry hungry Corgi
That's pretty awesome. I couldn't find a good calendar this year and we ended up with a pretty boring and generic one, just because it was large enough to fit all our family events
Another true story is that my very first retention/ promotion application had a very open-ended question basically saying "Tell us something interesting about yourself." And I tried to tell this story. But when my wife helped me edit she just said nope! Take it out, put something else more boring.π
Oops guess I've posted this fact before. But of course my parents would offer my (great) uncle our couch or guest bedroom and he'd famously respond "No thanks, I only sleep under the stars"
Ramblin' Rudy Phillips was a semi-famous figure in Illinois and across the Midwest for a while. My Uncle not so much. But apparently the king and queen of hobos is still a contest at the national hobo convention in Britt, Iowa www.britthobodays.com
My Uncle Edgar was a real, self-proclaimed hobo who entered a famous king of the hobos contest in Iowa when I was a kid (he rode the rails, hopped freight trains & sometimes showed up to camp in our yard). An actual king of the hobos winner (Rudy Phillips) also owned a BBQ restaurant where I grew up
Cicerone would be more my speed. My buddy was a sommelier among other things at one of the fancier Philly steakhouses till about 2010-12ish after he had a kid & was done w/ the lifestyle. Good $$ tho. Tried to start a college town restaurant/bar consultant business but that was a bit too cliquey
Oh, ha. On my phone I actually did kind of think it was Ace Frehley or Gene Simmons
Picasso old guitar player painting with another face pretty clearly visible behind it
Random aside that I can't help sharing: I love to go look at this painting when I'm in Chicago, partly because in person you can very clearly see the previous faces behind it that Picasso had painted over. And it makes it all the more ethereal
This is kinda wild because a pretty good friend who's in academia now was a sommelier in Philly for several years, too
