It’s been a while since I shared this, but I’m sharing it again. Writing it was awful, but the replies I received in response made me feel less alone. I hope it makes someone else feel seen.

Every release about Epstein makes me feel like this girl again. And there are millions out there like me.

Okay, okay, I'm an Ani King fangirl, so you might choose to ignore me, but I LOVE LOVE LOVE this tiny little story! Delish. Wouldn't kill you to read it.

Wow, Claudia! This one's beautiful and thought-provoking! Perfect.

This semester has been one of the best teaching semesters of my life and it's almost entirely because of going 90%+ to pen and paper.

My students are fully doing it, without complaint, and it's beautiful. They're actually reading. They're writing weird shit. They're being brave.

They like this.

Thanks so much, Trent. In addition to being a fantastic short story writer, you always take the time to celebrate other writers and I'm grateful.

Well, well, isn't this fun news to share. Thanks so much to the whole team @malahatreview.bsky.social and to judge H. Felix Chau Bradley. Feeling lucky (this time!) and grateful.

My writing advice? Find an activity that fully empties your skull, and make it a part of your daily routine. Exercise, art, video games, snowboarding, cooking; anything that leaves NO ROOM for intrusive thoughts or obsession. Brains need oil changes to maintain peak performance. Be stupid once a day

This newsletter is more than pretty good. It’s a smorgasbord of interesting music, stories, ideas. Highly recommend.

Yes (celiac) and yes and it was worth it a few years ago, not sure of current prices. Perfect place for one human and a book, though.

Canadians, a reminder that today's the last day to get 30% off the pre-order of my next novel, Mercutio, through Indigo's most anticipated books sale. A novel about what might have happened before Romeo met Juliet, sort of Umberto Eco meets Susanna Clarke. Thank you! www.indigo.ca/en-ca/mercut...

Awwshucks ☺️. For me, nothing new out really soon but a few stories on sub that I strongly believe in. Got behind in my writing life so first catching up on reading (your oil essay still in my tbr pile). But always old story links at andreabishop.ca if you're ever really boredπŸ˜†
