Absolutely love the light in this. Even more impressive given it’s black and white. Lovely stuff.
Because then the wrong people might win?
Billie Holiday?
Well my lad is way off the bottom of that scale! Only because school insist he has a part timetable though. I’d note that we still get letters expressing concern that his attendance is below 50%. It is sort of inevitable 🙄
I drive in forward at the shops so I can get to the boot. If it’s a tight space somewhere else though I’d rather reverse in. Reversing cameras make it easier to see where I’m going and I find it easier to manoeuvre.
The Law School Admission Test, a 3-hour exam that forms part of the law school admission process in the US, Canada and elsewhere, is ditching its online version and switching back to in-person testing to combat rampant cheating.
I think we'll see a lot more of this.

I mean let’s be honest, given the ageing population we can’t really afford not to.
Fab morning @ashmoleanmuseum.bsky.social with the boy, exploring the Egyptian and Greek galleries. He often finds these places too busy and intimidating, but he’s had a brilliant morning. What fabulous, knowledgeable, kind and helpful staff. Soon be back to do the Romans and Islamic art rooms 😊
😂
Yes, it’s been ‘paused’ here until new funding is available in April.
We’ll likely have to go private, but then shared care isn’t guaranteed. There’s another minefield!
And I shouldn’t need to go private. It shouldn’t be a case of who can afford it.
Completely agree. I probably have the knowledge to argue my way to an early(ish) assessment through right to choose, but not everyone does. My son has already been excluded from school - devastating for a six year old when he his emotional dysregulation is completely beyond his control.
In some ways I understand the over-diagnosis concerns. I don’t think that people are being diagnosed when they shouldn’t be, but ADHD is a spectrum. My son’s issues are severe- they stop him doing everyday things including school. But he’s stuck in the same 6 year wait list as everyone else. Mad.
Call me cynical, but I think that various politicians efforts at minimising conditions like, for example, ADHD, is a deliberate tactic to minimise backlash when they cut services further. The only thing I’ve had to fall back on recently have been legal avenues. Take that away and we’d be stuffed.
Same here. I’m fortunate that can afford some private diagnoses / legal assistance to help. That’s not at all fair, but it’s the only way I’ve been able to navigate the system.
It’s certainly not functioning brilliantly where I live.
Tree of the Day. Looks how I feel
Why is curling so addictive to watch? I’m not sure I even have much idea what’s going on, but Go GB 🇬🇧
The ‘may not have a diagnosis’ thing is part of the problem though. We had an autism assessment that said we needed an ADHD assessment urgently. In our LA that’s currently a 6 year wait. The boy seems to have classic, and very severe, ADHD but it’s not ‘diagnosed’. Help is next to impossible to get
…. Loses rest of afternoon playing with the data….
I’m interested to know if there is any reliable data on this. A few months ago I’d have doubted a headline like that, but as the parent of a neurodivergent 6 year old that’s currently out of school (and not through choice) it would be interesting to know details. My inkling is that number is rising
Mine stand on the bannister and bounce on the handle until it opens. Disconcerting at 3am.
Bravo to the Eye. Again.
Those aren’t just any sandwiches…
Newspapers have painted a version of London to fit their own biases, often veering into the absurd.
Even if the data show progress on crime or safety, a narrative of fear can overshadow the facts.

Afternoon out in Oxford being all arty and cultured.
Dolores O’Riordan passed away 8 years ago on this date.
I thought I’d got everything down in plenty of time, but my son has pointed out various bits of tinsel I’ve missed 🤦🏻♀️
In my first job the kids asked me where I was from as ‘you’re geet posh you’. I was working less than ten miles from where I grew up. The ‘posh’ uni obviously had more of an effect than I thought!
