We're also incredibly grateful to have been awarded the Environmental Sustainability Award, for the second year running, for our Green Festival which we ran in partnership with Royston Environmental Group.
At this afternoon's Hertfordshire Museums Awards, volunteers, Rosemary, Janet and Sue were recognised as Heritage Heroes for all they do for the Museum, including their recent work to review our costume collection.
We are looking straight down the middle of the Great Hall. In the centre is a series of large oak posts which look like they are branching out and up holding the soaring roof above. There is a lot of wood, fit for woodnesday.

Archives like ours are filling up fast. Soon there will be no space in Britain to store newly-excavated artefacts and this will be catastrophic for research in archaeology as well as innovation, society, growth and the renewal of nature 😢

This belonged to Private Wedd from Royston, who was captured when Singapore fell to the Japanese in 1942. He transformed his mess tin into a record of survival, engraving the places that marked his ordeal.
