I may have too many but still not enough.
I may have too many but still not enough.
I am terribly reminded of Satyajit Ray’s movie Goopy Gyne Bangha Byrne because everybody on social media is acting as if war is some kind of a sport. A small clip from the movie (sorry but it’s in Bengali).
Mock drills in major cities in India tomorrow and all my mind can think is what if suddenly I find myself rushing out of the door and I am not wearing the perfect attire?
How many of Rupert Murdoch's horcruxes remain now? #AustraliaVotes
It's not just a rejection of Trump - though it is. It's a rejection of Peter Dutton.
Both things are incredibly well deserved.

Big big win!
new rule: if you don’t abide by international law, you don’t get international aid
In less than hour, Australia will vote again, in what can be one of the angriest eras in the nation’s history. I only hope, people see less angry times ahead and more support from the administrators.
Neat use of the daily average time spent on X app made popular by Apple's 'Screen Time' feature in service of showcasing how immersive the product (in this case, a hotel property) is. Surprisingly, this is an in-house effort, not by an external agency!
Today is National Adopt a Shelter Pet Day! 🐾
Whether it’s a dog, a cat, a bird, a bunny, if you can adopt, I promise it’ll be one of the most beautiful things you’ve ever done.
In honor of shelter pet adoptions, here’s Lucky on his very first day with us after he came to his furever home.

A cohort of competitive figure skaters and their companions, including retired champions, athletic coaches and family members, was aboard the American Airlines flight that crashed into the Potomac River.
29m ago 05:10 Duffy's comment that the accident was "preventable" echoes an earlier statement from Trump, which appeared to put the spotlight on the helicopter. It's unusual for officials to come out this early with theories, but Trump isn't known to take his time in publicly airing his views. Benedikt Kammel Global Aviation Editorial Leader f 32m ago 05:07 Duffy is again commenting on the circumstances of the crash by characterizing the flight paths of both aircraft as normal, and "not unusual for what happens in the DC airspace." It's worth emphasizing that it's highly irregular for anyone other than NTSB personnel, even senior government officials, to share details about an airplane crash, much less characterize what occurred during a crash. Those details typically fall under the NTSB's purview.
Bloomberg News crash liveblog pointing out that this one is already proceeding strangely.
Extremely heartbreaking to watch the news and the story unfolding slowly.
Donald J. Trump @realDonald Trump What a terrible night this has been. God bless you all! Donald J. Trump & @realDonald Trump 15m The airplane was on a perfect and routine line of approach to the airport. The helicopter was going straight at the airplane for an extended period of time. It is a CLEAR NIGHT, the lights on the plane were blazing, why didn't the helicopter go up or down, or turn. Why didn't the control tower tell the helicopter what to do instead of asking if they saw the plane. This is a bad situation that looks like it should have been prevented. NOT GOOD!!!
The latest from the president.
This is absolutely heartbreaking
This is so sad. A few days after the F-35 crash. Thoughts with everyone.
Hardly anyone from rest of India know how crazy the geography of the East is. Added to that the Siliguri Corridor/Chicken’s Neck, if it is blocked or a major incident erupts over there, the East of India is totally cut off from ROI. It will also have huge impact on states like Bihar & Bengal.
A look on the map hardly gives one an idea about how easy it is for one to just walk into Bhutan and then to China. Or walk to Nepal and ultimately China. And vice-versa. No wonder it is so easy for people from Nepal, Bangladesh and also China to walk into India from the neighbouring countries.
In December, I took a road trip through the infamous Chicken’s Neck. It is very a very densely populated region with three States feeling the tension of the region - Bihar, West Bengal & Sikkim. If one is not mindful, you won’t recognize the unpredictability and vulnerability of the area.
It is the only land link between the Northeast and the rest of India. The corridor touches the states of Bihar and Sikkim and is hemmed in by three countries — Nepal, Bhutan and Bangladesh. But don’t forget China.

If they don’t feel the need or the environment isn’t so, they won’t come.
The problem with Blue Sky is it is very US-centric. Which is fine if you want to focus only on US, UK and allies. But to develop or grow in other countries where social media really make difference (sans the fake news), Blue Sky has a lot of miles to cover. But I guess that’s not their aim.
From The Times: One tech worker recounted having a meeting with Musk at his electric car company in 2019 and being advised by senior staff not to wear any patterned clothing, suede shoes or fragrance. Such attire, they said, could send Musk into a rage. The Tesla chief executive’s assistants recall checking his Twitter feed to gauge his mood and check for “red flags” before confirming meetings for the day. “My sense from that experience was that he’s very much of his own mind and doesn’t really listen to anyone,” one said. “He seems to have this maniacal quest for power or legacy.”
Intrigued by how the Mail’s story that Dominic Cummings is advising Elon Musk might conflict with the Times’s story that Musk cannot take advice from anyone. Especially if they happen to be wearing the wrong things
