We could potentially do it the other way round though. Have cameras digitally sign photographs. Of course there will always be exploits, one that immediately comes to mind is taking a photo of an AI generated image with a camera.

It's a brave new world. We are going to need to figure out a way to verify real photos. I've heard the suggestion of including some sort of AI generated flag in the metadata vs details about the camera that took the photo for real photographs - but that seems easy to manipulate
