Another excellent visit to the wonderful De Ranke Tap Room today. The pΓ’tΓ© infused with Noir de Dottignies paired with the same beer is sublime. Hop Harvest on draft still great as was fresh Amer Amer.
That's interesting. It wasn't noticeably sweeter than last years version on draft at the brewery last Sunday.
Mons Station is very futuristic. Built at astonishing cost overun and finished years late it is finally open.

Enjoyable visit to the Oud Beersel Bierhuis. Loved comparing the Oude Geuze from 2005 and 2016. The 2005 was very vanilla and fruity and a bit oxidised. The 2016 was vibrant, soft, mellow and full of citric flavours. Great fun.
It was fantastic. Cows feed on coastal grass with high salt content due to sea spray. Also washed with Blond beer..
Last year Jukebox was removed and bar cut back to smaller area. Result is increased indoor seating.
Pity. Would have been good to meet up.

Another excellent visit to CafΓ© DenHerberg. The Den Herberg lambic is so smooth and soft and their Oude Geuze had the same characteristics. A friendly welcoming place.

Today starts with all 3 Westvleteren beers at In de Vrede cafe. The Blond is tasting great. The 8 was a fantastic pairing for the pΓ’tΓ© salad and the 12 for the ice cream infused with the 8 beer.
Good fun old beer and food pairing evening. My favourite was chocolate cake made with Whitbread Stout from 1973 and paired with amazingly good De Dolle Oerbier 1989.
