Jo, I tell a lie, the Nicotiana sylvestris is still going strong about 100 metres west of the Coop in Acle, look for the For Sale sign @jo-the-botanist.bsky.social
Not sure but doubt it, although they're still in flower in gardens at the moment.
I recorded this as a pavement weed in Acle in early July but haven't got round to adding it to iRecord yet. Lovely plant.
Any moth-ers , any thoughts on this one from east Norfolk last night, rather worn and not very obliging. Thanks @mothiduk.bsky.social
Thanks Steve, yes I did think it must be a Scarce Bordered Straw, but I haven't seen one looking quite like that before.

Lovely spring morning in east Norfolk, Bitterns booming, Blackcaps and Chiffchaffs singing and this Comma soaking up the sunshine.
Thanks James, in fact Jo Parmenter advises me it's Sweet Violet var dumetorum.

Syntormon metathesis
Syntormon metathesis is a small dolichopid fly which was only recognised as British a few years ago, but appears to be sparsely present in fenland habitat in the east of England. It also appears, unusually, to be winter active judging by this female near Great Yarmouth in Norfolk today.
My downloadable species guide & atlas to psyllids in Norfolk is now available on the NNNS website here: norfolknaturalists.org.uk/wp/wp-conten... This is a follow up to the article in NNNS Transactions with more pictures, ID tips etc to complement existing ID resources.
