Its both a massive up skilling effort and a change to the processes, ceremonies, and tools that product teams use day to day. I think there is going to need to be even tighter collaboration and communication between teams
Yeah I agree the transition is just starting. Engineers definitely need to take on more responsibility for understanding the business problems and requirements for what they are building.
I think the question is what that looks like practically.

Most of the discussions I'm finding so far are about getting engineers to shift their mental model or working patterns, but that obvious 2nd order effect is that teams are going to need to plan faster
Is anyone talking about what the future of product teams look like with generative AI? As I'm getting back to work after my sabbatical its clear to me that we need to change the way product teams work.
Increased engineering velocity and output mean more pressure on PM and UX.
But where are those chips going to come from? It seems like demand is going to outstrip supply for years. TSMC is the only serious producer of this kind of chip and it is going to take them years to scale up

A year ago, I thought LLMs were kind of neat but not that useful. I saw the code autocomplete and thought, meh.
Last summer just flipped. I never ever thought I would see automated code generation like we see now.
I know there’s baggage but you need to know the coders are being real about this
Really enjoying using Conductor for coding at work and on my personal projects. I rarely need to open the IDE anymore but it’s there if I need it
Its almost like competition is a good thing

1. Try to find a way to force people out of their normal workflow. It speeds up the adjustment.
2. Have people share what's working for them so others can learn.
