I am a suburban/rural public library director and a public charter school librarian. She/her. Owned by a cat. Married to @brainrotblog.bsky.social I will only "follow back" if I know you or if we actually have common interests.

URGENT: Jeffrey Epstein pal and enabler Deepak Chopra is still teaching our young people. Tell the University of California in San Diego and the University of Central Florida to drop him immediately, as it's uncomfortable for women and survivors. share.weareultraviolet.org/s/XBYac7i1

I was wrong, we have all three middle grade books! π±
Among my students, the frontrunners would be axolotls and capybaras, currently.
Oh, awesome. We have two of the three juvenile books already - and I've read Garlic & the Vampire!

America does not care about the lives of children.

She was beautiful.
My magnesium was nerfed for nearly two years after I had covid. I was taking supplments, in addition to my multivitamin, every other day to deal with muscle twitches and cramps.
No other long symptoms, thankfully, probably because I've kept up on my vaccines.
How much evidence would be destroyed, though?
I'm currently reading "Warrior Girl Unearthed" by Angeline Boulley, & a side plot/issue is MMIW.
Currently in my hometown, everyone is mobilized to search for a college student, a young white man, who went missing Sunday in a snowstorm.
Great, but please put the same energy into MMIW or elders?

I bet that's tasty!
A fluffy black cat sniffs a crocheted pangolin figurine. There is a stack of hardcover children's books in the background. The carpeting is beige and the pangolin figurine rests on a red-and-white striped cushion.
Anji is curious about pangolins, on Caturday and World Pangolin Day.
Pangolins are the world's only scaled mammals, and the world's most trafficked mammals due to demand for those scales - which are made of keratin, like fingernails - as well as bush meat, which tourists pay top dollar for.
A baby pangolin is called a pangolin and rides on its motherβs tail until it is about three months old.
To defend themselves, pangolins roll up into a ball. They can also release a stinky liquid from a gland under their tail.
Pangolin scales are made of keratin. Keratin is the same material that makes up our hair and fingernails. The edges of their scales can be very sharp.
Pangolins are endangered. They are hunted for their meat and scales and are also threatened by habitat loss.
More pangolin facts for World Pangolin Day!

The poster's husband, wearing a black jacket and blue jeans, stands between snowbanks, one of which reaches his shoulder. A path is cleared between him and where the author of this post is standing. The snow is fresh and white. A few twigs from a nearby tree poke into the left side of the photo in the foreground.
How much snow do we have currently?
A pangopup is checked by Brookfield Zoo medical staff. The staff member wears a blue glove. The tiny pangopup is pink and has its tail wrapped around the hand toward its nose. It is in profile.
This is a happy thing on World Pangolin Day! Two days ago, a pangopup (yes, really) was born at the @brookfieldzoo.bsky.social . Photo from their Facebook page.
A lot of my public library patrons still have landlines because there is no cell phone reception.
Some day, hopefully, we can wish each other a Happy World Pangolin Day on the third Saturday of February, but there's still so much work to do.
My linocut print on black Japanese washi paper in a vertical gradient of copper to green ink of ground, grass and ground pangolin. Every scale of the pangolin is printed on different Japanese washi papers in various colours and patterns.
The 3rd Saturday in February is World Pangolin Day to draw attention to the plight of the worldβs most trafficked animals, these magnificent scaly mammals. π§ͺπ‘ There 8 species of #pangolin in Africa and Asia, all endangered, threatened by poachers for their meat & scales (used in traditional π§΅

You're interesting and genuine.

I am second-most senior among the staff at my school, too. It feels so weird. (Some teachers have more years total from other jobs - like our newest hire has 20 years elsewhere. But I have 2nd-most building seniority.)
