Somehow i totally missed or Forgot about this 1988 attempt at a Facts of Life spinoff. If i'd had a tv in '88-'89, and not being full-on in-life in NYC, then yeah, i prob woulda tried watching it. www.instagram.com/p/DVv3DfZEWF...

Lately, I find it hard not to think that the Rump admin isn't intentionally trying to trigger Armageddon in the Middle East.

Ugh. As expected, even reality show writing and editing jobs being relaxed by AI. This is a depressing read, but rob essential?

50 degrees out, much snow-ice-sludge gone, and the dogs of nyc are palpably happier.
I so wish this wasn't a real thing we have to think about or deal with. www.democracydocket.com/news-alerts/...

Know you prob know all this, but seeing it summed-up here, editorially, is really something. These summation documents will one day be great historical evidence, should humans get past this time. nymag.com/intelligence...
Anyone got digital screeners for Hamnet or The Testament of Ann Lee? i've been a little cash broke, so haven't been to the movie theater enough the last couple months.
8. Briefly relevant to my thrift-vintage tv show work.
Will never stop missing the corporeal. the smell of ink. The different sounds made by touching or crinkling paper. The timeless things (that physical deteriorate over time, every mark or wrinkle a permanent addition). Personal mass ephemera.
7. ... metaphorical weight. Anyhow. Almost everywhere you could go - shabby beach-town arcades, to every small town with a college, to Paris, to everywhere, posters were a kind of token / totem. Presumably those stores are gone now. Magic screens being the all-encompassing addiction of choice.
6: As were newspapers. And the invention of the printing press gave rise to democracy, and the concept of literacy, and the way we arrange our brains and ideas and memories. So the poster was a kind of - mark of quality by printers. The actual physical press having both concrete and metaphorical
5: Art album adjacent. Of the smell and care around a good, important hardcover book. But also of the flavor-texture and care of a good coffee-table art book. Do aliens have posters? Were these qualities specific to Western-culture? obviously, all these things were derived from the printers.
4: ...they'd look through file drawers to pull it out, by matching the code. Or they might phone downstairs, so you could be doubly disappointed when it wasn't there... And you'd treat like this precious delicate commodity. Posters were amazing _ And almost in a category of their own.
3: And they were important. Related to identity and space. Are they still like that? Do kids and homes with kids have frames? We used to go down to the giant Harvard Coop, which sold albums and tons of stuff... but it had a huge, amazing, poster department. This way where there was display, then...
2: ... Maybe you were lucky enough to save-up or be gifted a one from your favorite movie; or giant art-poster of some band ... they met at this juncture-mixture of hi and lo art. Like you might tear-out a magazine page and add to same wall. Or your parents had awesome Klee prints in wood frames
Had a small flash-memory epiphanyte last night: POSTERS were this non-attention-seeking part of our culture for so long. In every city or town you went to, there were poster stores: Rock-Poster stores. And art poster stores. And it was kind of a neat big deal to get your sports team poster.
Anyone wanna work-trade to give me a lesson in DaVinci Resolve? Many years back i learned basic Avid, more basic after effects, some final cut, etc etc... But could use a DaVinci Tutorial. I can offer something that is equivalent amount of time.
I'd like to see a super-cut of Harry Dean Stanton as-broken-dad figure in bathrobe, flannel, old sweats? His character in Pretty in Pink and Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me is pretty much almost a straight line.
Everything about this 'Board of Peace' just reads super-scam, real estate development, replace the UN and NATO with this twisted corp.

At this rate, wouldn't be surprised if the Rump admin made crazy Shia LB a dike or ambassador or assistant Secretary of State or something. apnews.com/video/actor-...

Bovino sent this email at 3:11 p.m. on Oct. 4.
This is what the scene looked like at 2:48 p.m. when the first group of feds made their exit. They gassed people again at 3:27 p.m.
So during this attack, Bovino congratulated his guy who kicked everything off by shooting a woman five times.
Saw two stories of protagonists in detective procedural death-of-the-week dramas for major networks getting locked into death-trap type rooms, believing that they can't get out and are about to die. ... BWhen the locked doors open our heroes do NOT rush out, choosing to linger. Weird direction.
As much as we've all read our Zinn, and all give proper shit to the U.S. and it's history - I do wish more friends had studied the Agit-prop of the Soviets and the Chinese and more. How else do you categorize this? www.nytimes.com/2026/02/03/u...
