PhD opportunity: Study how climate variability shapes speciesβ ranges in mountain ecosystems worldwide via data analysis π Fully funded 3-yr. Deadline Oct 06 2025. bit.ly/465taot #PhD #GlobalChangeEcology
Many downscaled #paleoclimate datasets arenβt suited for capturing #temperatures during the Last Glacial Maximum in #mountains. Resolution too coarse for complex terrain. Use with caution β οΈ

Which paleoclimate dataset do you use for your research?
In my latest research, I compared temperature estimates from five well-known paleoclimate datasets to proxy data and found that inter-dataset variability can strongly affect temperature-delimited reconstructions. π§΅

πΈPlant diversity dynamics over space and time in a warming Arctic πΈ
Our new study @nature.com analysed plant diversity change in >2000 tundra plots over 4 decades. We found that plants changed unevenly, mostly driven by warming and biotic interactions.

π’ Viewpoint in New Phyt. on polyploid establishment!
Key take-homesπ§΅
1. In contrast to earlier hypotheses that pollinators can help new polyploids establish, we suggest that pollinators mainly prevent polyploid establishment because outcrossing increases the strength of minority cytotype exclusion.
