It will increase the delay of the audio, but it probably won't even be noticeable. Having a small buffer size matters for things like mixing and producing music.

I've had similar issues before, and it can be fixed by increasing the audio interfaces buffer size. If you are using windows, right click on the focusrite icon on the taskbar, click on settings, the window that pops up should let you increase the buffer size.
