(Recall that I live in CO and finalized my transaction on Dec 31, 2024 before one of the planned credit sunsets. MSRP - VW lease cash captured at buyout - CO credit signed over as a cap cost reduction is that ~$60k figure.)

Related: my net $60k price for a 1st Edition 4Motion looks quite reasonable against that $58k for a Pinnacle AWD eh, especially given negligible operating costs.
Iβm highly disappointed. VW remains the only comparable offering in the market, stagnant without competition. Maybe Mercedes will step in.
The PHEV Pacifica was introduced for the 2017 model year. And now come the 2027 model itβs gone. Only ICE Pentastar drivetrains on offer, a new fascia, and the same L2 ADAS package on our old 2018 and 2019 ones.
Hondaβs coming out with battery powered lawn mowers. Iβll look into this if/when my 25β Greenworks kicks the bucket. (The Greenworks is fine but definitely a step or three below my old gas Honda in mulching performance.)

adding some big ditches and tank-stopping caltrops probably a good idea, too
the masculine urge to crack open one last Diet Coke can for the day at 9:30 pm
* 2.325 years, to be precise. but close enough
in case any of y'all need or want a quiet shop vac, Costco.com has the 12 gallon variant of the DeWalt Stealthsonic shipped for $125.
given that I bought the same one a solid 2.5* years ago from Lowes for $134 what with inflation and all this is a deal
Iβd quibble with these two 90% SOC range estimatesβ¦ but theyβre actually quite accurate despite both of these being nominally 231 mile cars at 100% per the EPA.
magic spider-biologic tech insufficiently explained. oh, any colonies were programmed! that explains everything. (it does not.)
anyway, onwards.
latest read: Children of Time, as a Kindle Unlimited time waster between other books on hold
was ok. kinda boring. never really cared about Holsten or Lain, to be honest, and certainly never really cared about a Portia, Bianca, or Fabian.
Anyway, lines were crazy as all of Denver came up. This is the gondola but Pano was akin to this all day, too.
Reserve pass paid for itself today: lapped Panoramic repeatedly. For said powder. Wore myself out early and called it a day after taking one run with Marikoβs group after lunch.
Found some powder today. Also found some rocks and little trees here and there. But the powder is the key.
Looks like itβs still a shit show this morning on that same segment
but the basic platform is solid. quiet, good efficiency.
I still think their left steering wheel pad ergonomics for working the cruise control +/- lane keep are super stupid. and the throttle mapping for a 601 hp (still haven't done a proper launch control takeoff to get the last 40) car is inexplicably sedate in normal mode.
Started at home at 89% so a repeat 39% SOC trip here even though it was legit winter this time. That heat pump apparently does wonders to level the playing field for winter trips.
Postscript: got the kidsβ ski gear laid out and proper skis and poles in the car. Car, boot, and glove batteries all charging. Baby Aya was quite pleased with my initiative in hauling out Giant (53β Costco) Bear for her to sleep with in Yuna's room
Anyway, I made it. Passed a ton of people going up Berthoud Pass. Slogged it down slowly in line with everyone else.
2h 40m so an extra hour for weather and idiots.
* examples of idiocy:
really, bringing your Mustang out tonight? or a FWD Atlas with a driver totally bereft of the concepts of static vs dynamic coefficient of friction. Or the OR plate Rogue facing traffic in the left lane. Or the jackknifed pickup + box trailerβ¦ orβ¦
As per the photos once I got free EB traffic all diverted off the highway at El Rancho, too, so they had their fun.
Driving up was a shit show and a half
Oddly no issues at Floyd Hill. Instead idiot truckers ignoring the βall CMV must chain upβ boards and idiot passenger car drivers* made it a positive quagmire from C-470 to just before the Lookout Mountain exit. Probably 12 stuck semis + 12 stuck cars.
11β and change and still snowing after the snow stake was recently cleared. Itβll be the only good day this year tomorrow :-D
Bonus shot of slushy snow on my white Kiaβs hood
Between Thai Pot declining, only having an hour between contrast cases to pop out, and the weather I ate there. Got a Turkish pide, which was delicious. Very dry scone not my thing, but I would eat more pide in the future.
That spotted on the walk across the Colorado Center campus to the food and drink area, which I had never visited before having always gone to Thai Pot Cafe up the road.
Cool little Boss machine for snow-time grounds maintenance

And when adjusted for risk factors note that the hazard ratio for CAM is worse than doing nothing at all, albeit with some overlap in the confidence intervals--probably not worse, actually, but merely equivalent to doing nothing.
