This one of the most disappointing and concerning decisions I have witnessed. The work of @leahsottile.bsky.social and @ryanjhaas.bsky.social on Hush, s2 was phenomenal. It elevated rural voices and shed light on a story deeply meaningful to their community & elevated the role of journalism itself.

This is great news.
But don't let it get lost that the staff that make up The OPB-KMHD Creators Union are the ones who go on the air multiple times a year to ask for that financial support. #unionstrong

One issue in our first contract negotiation is compensation. OPB hasn't given us a proposal that addresses our concerns. Many of us struggle to make ends meet. Our current pay doesn't help alleviate the challenges we face. In the coming weeks, we’ll share more about the struggle our creators face.

Hello BlueSky!
We’ve been bargaining our first contract for 16 months now. While we’ve made significant progress, we still remain far apart with management on important issues. Drop a comment with support and encouragement as we continue towards the contract we deserve!

‘Good Trouble’ protests against Trump spread throughout Northwest
The protests were part of a nationwide movement and marked the anniversary of Congressman John Lewis’ death.
Demonstrations took place all across the Portland metro area, with events planned in Estacada, Canby, Portland’s Laurelhurst Park and Willamette Park, as well as outside the state Capitol in Salem. A Good Trouble rally in Vancouver grew large enough to shut down Franklin Street downtown.
