It’s been an exciting week on Capitol Hill. My Wintergreen Emergency Egress Act passed in the House of Representatives. This bill resolves a 25-year problem that five other lawmakers previously worked on in Virginia's Fifth Congressional District. This bill directs the Secretary of the Interior to construct an additional exit route off the mountain in case of an emergency like a wildfire or earthquake.
I’m also excited to tell you about my bill that protects female athletes, the Riley Gaines Act. I was proud to work with my friend Riley Gaines on this legislation. We are standing up for women who have been sidelined, injured, or lost professional opportunities and scholarships when they are forced to compete against biological male athletes.
I also voted against the War Powers Resolution, which would handcuff the Commander-In-Chief. As we mourn our fallen, we need to put politics aside and support our troops. The terrorist regime in Iran has been killing thousands of people around the world and funding terrorist groups for the last 47 years. Nothing President Trump has done constitutes an act of war with Iran, and he is not proposing an open-ended conflict. President Trump is protecting America and the world by eliminating Iran’s nuclear capabilities.
Finally, I once again voted to fund the Department of Homeland Security. Democrats have been holding DHS hostage in protest of ICE, but ICE is already funded. It makes no sense. As a result, agencies like TSA, FEMA, and the Coast Guard are unfunded while possible terrorist cells form in our country. This is unacceptable.
Good lord, our "representative" is not representing.

Always fun to see a single engine chugging along.
Taken while having coffee after the ride.

Streetlight in front of Corsette, Whitehouse and hardware store in the Square. With rickety, chairs and tables where people sit.
Street light
Hey, streetlights in the Square.

A partially constructed roundabout
Ultra Wide zoom of a supposedly almost complete roundabout
I still don’t see it, but I suspect they know what they’re doing

I initially thought you were referencing the signs on the cut through by Starr hill. That one still bothers me, but I get it.
These signs are completely absurd and make me want to use the trails even more

VDOT responded to my email about the roundabout:
"We plan to open the Route 240/250 Roundabout and remove the Route 680 detour in the second week of March, work will continue through the early summer to complete the roundabout median islands."

I'm begging my fellow politicians, Illinoisans, and Americans to realize that right now, we aren't fighting over policy or political party.
We're fighting over whether we're going to be a country rooted in empathy and kindness — or one rooted in cruelty and rage.

New sign that says, "PRIVATE resident use only. Glenbrook Parkside HOA."
New sign on the other side that says, "Public Connection to Crozet Park"
Found some new ... wayfinding?
on opposite sides of the connector/emergency road between Parkside and Glenbrook.

What I’m guessing is the base of a street light, one of at least two that I saw this morning in the Square in front of the Mudhouse and their rickety furniture
Not looking forward to what looks like coming street lights in the Square. Dark skies are so important.

First, this is all excellent.
Second, I would argue that we are running out of room to build housing the way we have built housing for 50 years.
We need to build potentially, mixed use, integrating, appropriate infrastructure, and jobs.
Piecemeal does not work

Supervisor Mallek says RWSA is doing a water supply study for Crozet that will be complete in May.
She also says updates on Eastern Avenue are probably coming in ~7mo.
On school capacity, she says wait for the school board to "figure out what theyre doing."
