I would probably have a job.
Either he has blackmail material on everyone, or there's a hidden room at Mar A Lago that has a pentagram drawn on the floor in blood and black candles at 5 points.
When you say that it struggles with browsers, which ones do use? I stick with Safari in the hope that it will help my battery life and overall performance.
The other concern I've heard about is Thunderbolt. @snell.zone talked on Macbreak Weekly about how the A-series CPUs can't support the same Thunderbolt connections that the M-series chips can.
I clicked on the comments just to see how many popcorn GIFs had been posted.
The MacBook Neo (too early to call it "MBN"?) is a great idea, if you're dedicated to buying new, esp. directly from Apple.
I got a refurb MBA M1 last year for less than $500, and it's been a great computer, at least until I want to do any kind of serious gaming. But day-to-day work? It's perfect
I had a used polycarbonate MacBook not long ago. It was shiny.
It looked cheaper than my MBA, but the thing felt *solid*.
Just checked Wikipedia. Those Aquanet junkies are still recording and touring…
Any good mesh routers you can recommend?
I’ve wondered about building a network out of RPis (or some other single board computer), but I didn’t see anything.
Only Congress can declare war, Hegseth…
(You chucklehead)
Does pi-hole mitigate this at all?
(I have my router DNS set to the pi-hole’s IP)
*thinks for a moment*
$&@!
I use a Google Nest mesh router. Never mind.
Why is anyone still interviewing her?
Searched for “Can Level 5 druids wild shape into swimming animals?” DuckDuckGo’s search assist AI responded, “ No, level 5 druids cannot wild shape into animals with a swimming speed; they must reach level 4 to transform into such creatures. At level 4, they can wild shape into beasts with a swimming speed, but only if they have seen those beasts before.”
Yet another reason I don’t trust AI…
I sincerely hope that he's hearing from his constituents right now.
I self-hosted email for awhile, on a dedicated Pentium-something running Windows NT (yeah, that long ago) on a DSL connection. It went…ok-ish.
When I gave my nephew an email acct, The amount of spam that boy signed up broke the box. Plus, one or two power outages made me re-think the whole thing.
I'm thinking about installing Immich. How much disk space should I provide for the DB ?
My child has a congenital heart condition which requires frequent specialist visits, labs, and other preventative care. Because she was adopted, and because I'm currently between jobs, we need Medicaid for her medical needs.
Mr. Vice President, I take this jackassery _extremely_ personally.
Agreed. I've learned more about modern web deployment and technology just by self-hosting on my $70 home network Linux server than I ever imagined.
I would change that to, "unless you don't give a shit about your kid's life and health, OR THE LIFE AND HEALTH OF OTHER KIDS, you'll give them every vaccine recommended by medical science. Now, are you going to be a good mother or a stupid selfish flake?"
I've wondered about setting up a VPN to my home network. My main concerns are (1) I'm currently capped at 1230 Gb/month, and (2) My upstream connection is only about 35mbps. I'm not sure my connection speed is up to the task, and I would hate to blow through my data cap.
I'm amazed at the Epstein survivors who attend the SOTU tonight. I hope they stare at the Tangerine Tumor until he looks away in shame.
I will never understand why an outlet to the left of Newsmax will give that human tumor any airtime.
Amen to this.
I miss my pi-hole when traveling. I've thought about buying a RPi with a case+screen combo, and setting it up as a travel pi-hole. A RPi Zero W can handle pi-hole duties for a short amount of time (a week or two).
Why haven't we had more Trump impersonators calling into these shows? It seems like a hilarious way to get under his Kleenex-thin skin.
Since he insists on making declarations outside of official channels (w/accountability), let's show what happens when it can't be proven what he did/didn't say.
The only solution I've been able to think of is a separate Navidrome instance just for classical music.
Any other options?
3/
I have an odd use case: My local classical station gives away 1 free MP3 each day. I set up a python script that downloads, changes the album name to the same name as previous downloads, and marks them as part of a compilation.
I don't want all the composer names flooding my main Navidrome.
2/
I will give Navidrome a second endorsement. Dead simple to set up, and I can stream it to just about anything. I tend to use the web interface on everything just because it's easy.
One gripe is the login. I run it on my home server, and I wish that I could turn off having to login to use it.

If you’re doing a D&D play podcast, and you spend the first 4+ hours doing world building and exposition,
You’re doing it wrong.
My gaming PC bit the dust, so I've been considering building a new one*. That would let my poor M1 MBA just be a Steam client, and solve 85% of the problem, unless I want to game away from home. I've also tried GeForce Go; love that they play Steam games , but data caps suuuuuck.
*yes, RAM=$$$$$
