That's great. I'm glad you liked them. I have these books in the "To Be Read" pile. I will definitely keep your feedback in mind.
I'm #CurrentlyReading "Star Trek DS9: Prophecy and Change". This is an anthology which contains about a dozen short stories that took place during the DS9 show (between "Emissary" & "What You Leave Behind"). 📚🖖

Just a reminder that Simon & Schuster's Trek E-Book sale for February is now available (at least in the US). There is something for everyone, especially for fans of TNG and TOS novels. 📚🖖

Ah, Ambassador Kollos the Medusan. I liked how "Prodigy" gave us another Medusan with Zero.
I'm not a programmer but I think in order for the options to be listed in the poll, they must have at least 1 vote each. So the developer gave each option 1 vote as a placeholder. Not sure if that made any sense (or if it's correct - just a guess on my part) 😀
Yes, when I read about M'Benga, I think of Babs Olusanmokun over the TOS actor who played him in those couple of episodes.
With the SNW cast about to completely flesh out the TOS roles, you can almost read this book entirely imagining the new versions of the characters. It’s almost impossible to see M’Bengas name now and not picture our SNW actor.
Yes, that was a good scene which would have led to a commercial break if it was on TV.
Yes, we had Gary Mitchell and Elizabeth Dehner in the 2nd Trek pilot. There was also "Plato's Stepchildren" which dealt with that topic too.
Good point about the 24 hour window. I didn't that made sense because it provided a built-in way to be defeated. If they followed Darwin, then evolution may have allowed any parasites with "longer" windows to survive and pass that trait on to others.
That is true and is even more so today due to a "behind-the scenes" change. For some reason, I wasn't able to access the polling tool I normally use. I ended up using a backup polling tool & I noticed it gives 1 vote to each of the 4 different options at the start. I guess that's how it works.😀
43. Just a heads up that after “Ex Machina”, we will resume our discussion of the Prometheus trilogy we started last year by discussing “Prometheus Bk #2: The Root of All Rage" sometime in the mid - late April timeframe (Exact wknd dates to be announced). Thanks!

Oh, that's interesting. I have been reading Star Trek e-books for around 6 years and this is the first time I had a problem with the lack of page breaks. I hope it's just a one-off problem (I think it is).
Yes!!! Were you reading the e-book? I was & thought it was only me who had that issue. Given there was no sign the story moved to another section, reading it was jarring at times. It reminded me of the teaser for ENT's "Impulse", T'Pol was getting angrier, then "It's been a long road ..." 🎶 🎵
It's just interesting to see someone act in a manner that's foreign to them because they are being controlled.
I loved The Assignment, it's not alien possession but I liked Man of the People. Cathexis was interesting. It's just a great trope. #TrekBookClub #StarTrekDemons
Ah, "The Assignment" - I forgot about that one. That was a great episode which showcased Rosalind Chao's acting range and is probably my favorite Keiko episode. It's too bad she was "evil" for most of it.
I think private research would be good for her. Starfleet is too regimented for her. Plus, how loose she was w/authority, she would've gotten into trouble eventually.
As for the book's endng w/teh rose. I liked it. I was sweet. #TrekBookClub #StarTrekDemons
Jane Wyatt's version wore her emotions on her sleeve. Mia Kirshner is more guarded and I think I like that version better. #TrekBookClub #StarTrekDemons
While I'm used to Jane Wyatt's version since that was the version we had for so many years, I was happy when Discovery brought her back and gave us more stories with Amanda.
Good point. I guess that helps make the plot along faster ... 😀
That line was a bit unclear. I interpreted that to mean they will keep McCoy around for now until they need a host and then will take over him later.
Tbh, this seemed anticlimatic to me. The solution was simply put everyone to sleep because the parasites will die off?
That said, I liked they they sufficeitnally answered ther question "What about people who are inside?" #TrekBookClub #StarTrekDemons
Yes, me too. Those were the best!
Yes, whenever the captain succumbs in a TV episode, that ups the stakes.
