Okay let’s see how videos do on Bluesky. I’m curious, and also this is one of my favorite bookish videos to share. 😊 #booksky

How does one reconcile the need to market as an indie author with the urge to delete all social media? Asking for a friend! πŸ₯ΉπŸ˜…πŸ‘»

Someone infinitely more talented than I? πŸ₯² Perhaps I should embrace the challenge. Screenplays are so different from my usual!

Well dang, I just dreamed an entire short film about zombies, and it was really satisfying. Shame I don’t write screenplays…or should I? πŸ€”πŸ§Ÿβ€β™€οΈ

One of my favorite things about POLTERGEIST is how Steven Freeling, father of three, has totally accepted that his house is haunted and his daughter was taken away by spirits in the TV static, but then a spirit medium shows up at his house and he's like "I call bullshit."

It’s generally known that ghosts create β€œcold spots” but can they ever make β€œhot spots?” Instead of the feeling of a cold hand touching your face, could it be warm instead? Asking for, uh, a friend. πŸ˜…

Reasons to Live Through the Apocalypse

Sunrises. People you have still to meet and laugh with. Songs about love, peace, anger, and revolution. Walks in the woods.
The smile you exchange with a stranger when you experience beauty accidentally together. Butterflies. Seeing your grandparents again. The moon in all her forms, whether half or full. Dogs.
Birthdays and half-birthdays. That feeling of floating in love.
Watching birds eat from bird feeders. The waves of happiness that follow the end of sadness. Brown eyes. Watching a boat cross an empty sea. Sunsets. Dipping your feet in the river. Balconies.
Cake. The wind in your face when you roll the car window down on an open highway. Falling asleep to the sound of a steady heartbeat. Warm cups of tea on cold days. Hugs. Night skies. Art museums. Books filled with everything you do not yet know.
Long conversations. Long-lost friends. Poetry.

I wrote this on one of the darkest days of my life. It gave me an anchor to hold onto.

Congratulations on surviving the chaos of this week. May you take a moment to be selfish this weekend, may your drink of choice be your preferred temperature, and above all else may you find the strength to keep fighting for actual freedoms for another day πŸ–€

HEART EYES is an absolute blast, sure to become an annual Valentine’s Day watch. Expertly hits all the rom-com AND horror notes. A bespoke slasher with inventive (and stylish) kills likely to end up on end of year best of lists πŸ‘€πŸ˜

Reminder for everyone: Get a library card. Visit your local library. Check out books (especially banned books). Use the other resources. Attend library events. Utilize an important part of your community that is FREE! Don't let them forget its importance. #booksky πŸ“šπŸ’™
