The only sci-fi explanation I've ever liked for how a monster could be so big is Godzilla: Singular Point. Maybe the only good speculative sci-fi take on Godzilla there is.

As a speculative ecology lover I'm often at odds with kaiju media that attempts to make daikaiju a part of the food chain. Western Godzilla movies are always trying to impress with their sci-fi handwaving but they shouldn't be asking us to think about it at all. DONT get me started on "Hollow Earth"
