It reminds me of watching a photograph develop in the tray in the darkroom. Each of those generations are like photographs developed by stopping the development process at different times and with different developer solutions.

Another diffusion experiment, going from a very constrained setup at which the model cannot get to build any recognisable shape (a tree here), to the point when the object is fully formed, although without detail yet.

A few more of the same series
Details: done in ConfyUI, with a small Stable Diffusion model, manipulating the steps, the noise, scale, and cfg values. I decrease the values of noise and steps until all figurative traces disappear, then play with cfg values and minor changes to scaling noise until I get results that I like.
Experiments in diffusion AI: in this series Iβm forcing/hacking a small locally-run diffusion model to produce abstract, averaged and rough images for a minimalist prompt, int his case βriverβ.

Great news about the age requirement! Being 52 years old, it is frustrating to see open calls for βnew talentβ and then realise you have to be under X age. Why?!
I am all for giving opportunities to young people, but we need to separate being young from being βnew talentβ
An inspiring short film on Emergence Magazine about the ideas of poet and ornithologist BJ Roberts, directed by Jeremy Seifert:

Interesting topic! Iβve signed up for the remote call bc I canβt be there that evening, sadly.
Four arrested on βsuspicion of malicious communicationβ. Meaning of course that the government thinks for you and you have to obey or be arrested. Such is the state of things in this country.

Loses for whom? Millionaire investors. Not artists. Thatβs not the art world. Or it shouldnβt be. Itβs just another investorsβ world. They would invest in bottled poo if they could resell it.
βWhen asked directly whether he could guarantee under oath that French citizen data would never be transmitted to US authorities without explicit French authorization, [Microsoft France's director of public and legal affairs Anton] Carniaux responded: βNo, I cannot guarantee it.ββ
Here we go. This was of course the aim all along, to stop people from saying anything against the genocide and Apartheid happening in Gaza. Disgraceful. I will never again give my vote to Labour.

Amazing, letβs continue destroying this planet so future generations can go and enjoy algae on Mars

Interesting retrospective exhibition of Edward Burra in Tate Britain. His landscapes have an other-worldly aspect that makes me want to be walking on that land. #art
Impressive quality of work by this yearβs students. I would encourage everyone to give it a visit!
Impressive quality of work by this yearβs students of the uni of Westminster MA in photography and emerging media. I would encourage everyone to give it a visit! At Ambika P3, in their Marylebone building just opposite Baker Street tube station.
Drop by Ambika P3 Marylebone Rd to see fresh work by the Westminster MAs in Expanded Photography, and Art & Emerging Technologies 11-7 thru Tues 2 July
Such a good exhibition ! I el was inspired by every single one of them. Congratulations!
This is everywhere in this country. Itβs basically the same problem as people thinking that nature = fields of wheat and hedgerows, because theyβre nice to look at, and they are so because of our innate attraction to order, itβs my best guess. 300 years of βlandscapeβ art is probably also to blame.
Join us for the PV of 'Test Site', a show by graduates of the University of Westminster MA Expanded Photography and MA Art & Emerging Technologies

This is past Orwellian, we are living in a police state that arrests anyone who gives any indication of wanting to protest government actions. This is what face detection is for.

Very interesting compositions! shame that I missed this. It will teach me to check out your feed more often :).
But also, I canβt stop thinking of the cost of those sliced 8x10 colour negatives! My hand trembles just with the thought of cutting through those.
Ooh! Amazing, thank you!
I really wanted to attend this one but could not make it. At least this made me aware of Hammondβs work!
Ed Adkinβs exhibition at the Tate Britain in London is one of the best Iβve seen in some time.
The problem with it is that there are so many ideas and emotions contained there, that you need to visit it a few times.
If you are into photography art and looking for something to read, David Bateβs Photography wonβt disappoint !
This is in Tate Modernβs shop but it is online too.

Iβm afraid it is not as clear as the authors of the paper want us to believe. Universities act today like for profit businesses: it is probably marketing bluff.
