What on Earth makes you think I’m against immigration??

The reply you replied to was about immigration, hence borders therein meant state frontiers, not merely geographical demarcations

No, it only implies place names. Not necessarily borders. Place names do not imply borders.

A masterclass from Zack Polanski on #BBCLauraK:

β€œThere is no example in history where we’ve bombed people into democracy.”

No shouting. Just facts doing the heavy lifting.

Nurul Amin Shah Alam crossed oceans to flee unimaginable violence, only to die here β€” where he should have been safe.

The cruelty is endless.

Stochastic tensor contraction for quantum chemistry Many computational methods in ab initio quantum chemistry are formulated in terms of high-order tensor contractions, whose cost determines the size of system that can be studied. We introduce stochast...

A breakthrough in comp chem! Jiace Sun and Garnet Chan from Caltech developed stochastic tensor contraction and applied it to CCSD(T), achieving a 2.5-32x speedup relative to DLPNO, with ~4x higher accuracy (the latter does not seem to degrade with system size). arxiv.org/abs/2602.17158 βš›οΈπŸ§ͺ

In principle, I agree. However, this would be political suicide for a politician in Poland today. Non-nationalist left (Lewica) polls at ca. 6%, just above threshold. Religious social populist right + religious far-right + libertarian far-right would get 40-50% of the vote if elections were today.

He isn’t a federalist, if that’s what you meant. Knowing where the Overton window is in central/eastern Europe, I can guess why we don’t see prominent federalist voices…

There are nation states on Europe. It’s a fact. At the moment, whether we like it or not, the EU policies are largely created by or at the behest of the constituent nation states, which are (most of the time) stronger than any trans-national interest group. Is it nationalist to acknowledge this?

Neither Sikorski nor the PM Tusk are nationalists. The president is, though…

Stop the Tories and Reform in House of Commons Vote tactically in House of Commons to stop the Tories and Reform

If your priority is stopping Reform you need to know who to vote for to do it. This site has the answer. πŸ‘‡πŸ»

Wow. That is properly unhinged and, frankly, scary. As I wrote before, we seem to live on VERY different planets.

Our candidate for Gorton and Denton, Hannah Spencer, says the threat of adopting ICE-style tactics would put hardworking communities in the firing line.

Stop Palantir taking over our public services! Our public services aren’t for a secretive profit-hungry US tech firm. Sign the petition to tell the Government to scrap all contracts with secretive US tech firm Palantir.

Palantir, a US spy-tech firm, has been given access to millions of NHS patient records.

Its founder has said the NHS should be 'ripped up'.

Join me in calling on the government to end the dangerous Palantir contract.

Labour under Starmer is toast. Are you saying Labour is somewhat more toast with someone else at the helm? Why? I thought catastrophic ratings and a major scandal would be a reason for making some changes, but what do I know…

They haven’t tried conquering any new lands, true. But what have they done to their own, e.g. during the Great Leap Forward, the Cultural Revolution, etc etc? What have they done to Tibetans? What are they still doing to Uyghurs? What are you even talking about???

At what cost, though? An ultra-controlling, totalitarian state which does not tolerate any dissent.
