Somewhere there's an alternate universe where humankind has united to manage the precious dwindling resources needed to survive, find solutions to climate change and generally have a nice time, instead fighting over being slightly richer than each other.
I think it was around 2018-2019 when video calls became the norm for me, before that it was Skype for business, but anything involving a third party usually involved a voice bridge.
