I had TikTok for about 2 weeks in 2022 then deleted it 😆 Although I didn't put much on there so it wasn't a big deal for me. Twitter becoming 💩 was annoying though as there was a great travel community, but I guess here is a fresh start. Some people seem to be leaving FB and IG too 😯

I think it will be a mix of city travel and hiking, with some road trips. It is difficult because I don't have an exact niche, like some people who like cities hate hiking I guess.
It has already been offline for about a year, I think even the domain has expired on bluehost. I was hoping to make a much more optimized site (within what I know). My initial site was basically an evolution of me writing travel stories for myself in 2019, so there was minimal thought into SEO.
2/2 guess it's also about showing my personal impressions as a blogger as compared to the more wide-ranging 'ultimate guides' to a place.
Not sure I find it hard to focus on just one thing, maybe I should spend more time on a specific thing on my trips. I find it hard to cover e.g. food or accommodation, as I feel I need to have experienced the thing, like you said in your guide, and I am limited in what I can see in 1 trip, but I 1/2
Not sure what I would call it, I did have an ask around on Twitter a year or two ago, but couldn't find much better than my current name, although I guess it's not mindblowing. I think I will do the fresh start then if you reckon that would work better. I have the old pages saved as documents 😊

Looks quite cool the tank you went in! I went to one in someone's converted garage (it was very professional, looked great, very clean etc not like I'm making it sound 😆), it's an interesting experience for sure!
Yes I was thinking of doing that, I had always heard the advice that starting afresh was terrible, but I also assumed that was based on people already having a decent performing site with lots of backlinks, DA etc, which I don't think mine had. I guess its not even there now though 🤷♂️
2/2 pages, but there is quite a lot of 404 pages and pages I can't seem to index properly, so just wonder if its worth starting afresh
I don't know, they had vaguely SEO titles like 'How to x in x' but not sure they would be keywords which my low DA site could get traction with. After kind page+SEO help from you, and others incl @solotravelstory.bsky.social @rjontouruk.bsky.social I did see some more views & clicks for the 1/2
2/2 in mind but I did start doing more SEO with the kind help of several people in this community (who fled Twitter). Would it be better to just start afresh with a good base of SEO and only helpful pages? Or is that worse than restarting a flawed page?
#travelbloggers Blogging question... my blog lapsed around a year ago. I am thinking of restarting it, hosting with Lyrical Host. Is it better to start again completely? My page was mainly stories rather than helpful guides (although there were a few top 10 guides). Almost 0 was written with SEO 1/2

You can take an overnight sailing via Brittany Ferries from Portsmouth to St Malo. Waking up with a view of the Bretagne coast is a lovely thing.
From Las Caletas, a private beach 45 minutes away from Puerto Vallarta (can only be accessed by Vallarta Adventures since the beach is owned by them). This was the highlight of our trip!

Yes haven't commented that much, but posted a few times. It's the same on IG and others though, I guess the algo only shows the same 10-15 people to each person now on IG? Like I haven't seen many posts of yours on IG recently despite following. I guess they are trying to push sponsored posts?
